STATEMENT OF NEED FOR SUPPLIES

NRMAC7000-20-00911

PURPOSE:

Fifteen (15) of each: Campbell Scientific CR1000X Data Loggers with Extended Temperature

Capability, 12v Charging Regulator and Adapter Cable, 50W Solar Panel with 20 foot cable, Vaisala HMP 155 Temperature/RH probe with 45 foot cable, Vaisala HMP 155 Temperature/RH probe with 25 foot cable, Hukseflux LP02 Pyranometer with 25 foot cable, Vaisala PTB110

Barometer with 30 inch cable, and Backplate for a 16” x 18” enclosure. Thirty (30) of

METSPEC 14-Plate Solar Radiation Shield. One (1) of each: METSENS500 All-In-One Sensor with 17 foot cable, and METSENS Mounting Kit.

These items are needed for weather data collection and processing.

A critical element of the NOAA ARL/SORD mission is to collect meteorological data on and near the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS). These data are required to produce daily weather forecasts and spot forecasts for specific times and locations, conduct daily weather surveillance, generate severe and extreme weather warnings and advisories, and perform emergency response activities. In addition, we collect specialized weather data to support field experiments.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:

All equipment listed below is required to be ordered from a single vendor so as to ensure system compatibility.

All equipment MUST be compatible with the Campbell Scientific CR1000X Data Logger and the Campbell Scientific LoggerNet data retrieval software.

The instruments and equipment being purchased are to expand an existing 23-station weather tower network. In order to maintain consistency and quality of measurements across the weather tower network, the same manufacturer as is currently used is required.

Fifteen (15) of each item: I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII

Thirty (30) of each item: IX

One (1) of each item: X, XI
