About this file

This document contains questions and answers from a site visit for the renovation of an NIH laboratory in Entebbe, Uganda. The National Institute of Health in Uganda will provide a building next to the construction site for use as an office and storage during the project. The existing water supply and tanks will be used for the new laboratory. Specified locks in the solicitation that are unavailable can be substituted with equal approved alternatives, and locally made flush doors may be used where standard sizes are not available. The successful contractor will be shown during commencement the locations requiring demolition of floor slabs and removal of aggregate versus just hacking the floor.

The specifications for the locks include part numbers which are not readily available. Should we stick to and source the stated locks?

This door type D04 as in the solicitation documents can be locally made.

Contractors can proceed with quoting as per description in the documents and the successful contractor shall be shown where the two different works are.

The area that requires demolition of the floor slab and removal of hardcore is 2sqm while that that shows hacking off the floor is 223sqm in the Bills of Quantities
