1.1 PURPOSE

This helicopter will be used extensively in air-to-ground surveillance roles, often entailing flight operations over widespread metropolitan areas. This helicopter will also be used in flight operations in rugged mountainous terrain. These missions are often flown in high ambient temperature and humidity conditions resulting in high, density altitudes.

2. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

The helicopter shall be a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Certified, single-engine, light utility, turbine powered Bell 407 GXi helicopter, employing dual controls, high skid-type landing gear and minimum seating for two crew members and four passengers. The helicopter's airframe, power plant and major components shall be manufactured and assembled for rugged operation and shall be acceptable for use by the DEA. It is preferred that the helicopter be provisioned for airborne law-enforcement configuration. All factory standard equipment of the manufacturer's commercial model, unless otherwise noted, shall be provided in addition to those items specified herein. These requirements, together with the following specifications, shall constitute the minimum acceptable requirements.

3. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
