Question 28:

Is the low-slope membrane roof sections fully tapered? It doesn't specify if it is fully tapered, but in Section 075423-6, Part 2.4 (Roof Insulation) Subsection B, it calls out for a 2" Base Layer under the upper layer of polyiso insulation. This is leading me to think that the entire system is to be fully tapered, but I just need some clarification.

BOP Response: Clarification See each roof plan label and each roof detail label for specific roof type per building as shown in the drawing.

Question 29:

In regard to the roof hatch detail, the Spec calls out for a "Galvanized steel sheet roof hatch, with an R-Value of 12". I've been talking with some roof hatch companies, and they are saying that that spec is not possible to achieve, because of the hatch's R-Value of 12, and galvanized steel. The only way to get the R-Value of 12, and be thermally insulated is for the hatch to be Aluminum. Could you clarify if the spec is worded correctly?

Roof hatch submittal requirements are covered in Section 077200 in specification. Roof hatch fabricated from mill finish aluminum material with thermal insulation is acceptable to comply with thermal performance.

Question 30:

Is a superintendent the only full-me onsite supervision required?

Will a safety office or QC manager be required as well?

See Section 014000 Quality Requirements, page 014000-3 in specifications.

Question 31:

The period of performance is 550 calendar days per this solicitaon.

The solicitaon also references 81 calendar days for security clearances built into this POP. In other words, is actual construcon me 469 calendar days?

See page 8 of the solicitation, clause FAO-0009(a). “The contractor should be aware that the time required for security clearances to be completed may vary.”

Question 32:

Where should GC list the ‘Contractor’s Opon’ (ex: note 13/ A-112) in the lump sum price of this proposal?

See Instructions to Bidders and page 4 of solicitation.

Question 33:

How many weather days are factored into the 550 calendar days for period of performance?

Standard annual weather days for that region.

Question 34:

Are we able to use Past Performance Questionnaires from prior bid submissions?

Yes

Question 35:

Was the designer’s intent is to have a ¼”/ft slope with R=20 (plus ½”/ft crickets) on all flat roofs?

BOP Response: Clarification type per building as shown in the drawing.

Question 36:

From the drawings & details provided, it’s very difficult to tell which roofs are structurally flat and which are structurally sloped. Are you able to clarify which roofs are structurally flat or sloped?

type per building as shown in the drawing. Refer also to Building Sections indicating (graphically) where sloped structure occurs.

Question 37:

Is a ground loop required?

See Section 264113 - Lightning Protection for Structures

Question 38:

Is there an exisng ground loop?

Question 39:

Can we reuse the exisng downleads/ ground loop/ground rods or is everything new?

Question 40:

Can the new system be run exposed on the roofs or must it be concealed?

See response to Question 9 in Amendment 0001.

Question 41:

Are there any exisng drawings for the exisng lightning protecon system?

See response to Question 9 in Amendment 0001.

15BFA023B00000007/0004 Page 4 of 6

Question 42:

Can we get a week or two postponement?

See Amendment 0002 and Amendment 0003.

Question 43:

All standing seam metal roofing details reference existing metal deck in place, and that contractor is to install new R-Value 20 insulation over metal deck, however, in all photos of the jobs current condition, there does not seem to be a deck in place. There is also no Division 5 in the spec's indicating to install one.

BOP Response: Clarification See response to Question 10 in Amendment 0001.

Question 44:

Are the rooftop mechanical units being replaced? The drawings state that various rooftop mechanical systems are to be replaced. (EG:

drawing AD-123, note 8; Key Note A32 on A section of drawings;

Keynote A15 on drawing A-117).

BOP Response: Clarification See response to Question 15 in Amendment 0001.

Question 45:

Are the exhaust fans listed as keynote A32 separate from the fans scheduled on page M601?

No, see response to Question 3 in Amendment 0001.

Question 46:

If mechanical equipment is being replaced, does BOP have a schedule of equipment that we can have?

See response to Question 15 in Amendment 0001.
