5) We understand the new touch screen monitors will be mounted to the existing

CLARIFICATION: They are to be flat surface mounted touch screen monitors which will mount to the existing 19” consul space and not VESA mounted.
6) From the drawing we note “Audio” going into a PLC. We understand from the site review this is only for selecting audio paging paths to the inputs of the existing TOA amplifiers at each location. Please confirm.
7) We understand at each system location are 1 or more dark fiber connections the
Contractor may use for the in-situ cutover. Please confirm.
CLARIFICATION: No dark fiber will be needed by contractor.
8) We understand the scope to replace existing CAT5 PLC cabling with CAT7. There will be no speed benefit in the system by migrating from CAT5 to CAT7. Please acknowledge and confirm.
CLARIFICATION: We understand there is no speed benefit.
9) We understand the existing system has parts of it NOT working. Please confirm the contractor has no responsibility for existing deficiencies and not responsible for failed ‘equipment’.

12) We understand that no communications devices are allowed inside the facility.
However, in order for the contractor to complete an in-situ cutover correctional officers will have 2-way radios on a secure independent channel that can be used by the contractor for site communications. Please confirm.
CLARIFICATION: Only Bureau staff are allowed to use the radios or lan lines to communication for this purpose of this project.
13) We understand a recent change requiring ‘stick vests’ by operational staff.
However, the contractors will not be exposed to inmate population and will not be required to wear. Please confirm.
CLARIFICATION: Contractors are not required to wear protective vests.
14) We heard a ‘rumor’ that there will be a change in the proposed network layout and not use the media converters shown on the drawing. It would imply fiber to the PLC controllers. Please kill this rumor; confirm or deny.
CLARIFICATION: No fiber is needed to the PLC controllers.
15) The existing intercom system is not a TOA system as the bid documents describe. Our on-site review shows two (2) Rauland Bord DCC110 talk back amplifiers with only 2 voice paths. Please confirm.
