QUESTIONS RECEIVED FROM SITE VISIT:
1. Page 01 00 00-1, under 1.1, section B “Scope of Work”, states that the project scope is to remove and replace all existing automation equipment controllers and main control panels throughout the FDC. However, in the site walk, at the end of the meeting, the question was asked to clarify the scope of the project and the answer was “we simply want to have a new software interface for monitoring and controlling”. Please confirm if all automation controllers in the facility are expected to be replaced within this project.
ANSWER: Please follow the scope of work.
2. Page 23 08 00 – Page 2 of 8 in section B, lists the qualifications that the testing and balancing technician will be required to have. Please confirm that the company awarded the project will not have to contract a third party test and air balance company, if they meet the requirements specified.
ANSWER: No, a third party test and air balance company will not be required.
3. Will FDC Houston require demolition of the existing DDC system?
ANSWER: Please refer to the scope of work which specifies what is to be replaced and what can be reused.
4. On the document labeled “Final+Specifications_5D2H+Upgrade+BAS+HOU” under section 1.1.B. Scope of Work it states to refer to the provided record drawings for existing equipment quantities and locations. Will these documents be provided or a list of existing controller make, model, communication protocol, input / output list, and sub-lan (FLN Network) devices be provided?
ANSWER: The mechanical drawing have been uploaded to the solicitation under amendment 1.
5. Under section 2.2.A Manufacturers it states Tridium Niagara AX Platform. Is AX or Niagara 4 the preferred version for the system to be built on and are other manufacturers outside of Tridium Vykon allowed such as Distech EC Bos / EC Net, Johnson Controls FX80 / Facility Explorer, Alerton ACM / Ascent, etc…?
ANSWER: The AX or Niagara 4 is the preferred version per the Statement of Work. No other manufacturers outside of Tridium Vykon will be accepted.
6. Is the intent to replace all of the field controllers or integrate the existing field controllers into the Niagara platform?
ANSWER: Yes
7. Equipment sequences of operation is included in the specification. Is it intended to modify the existing field controller sequences to match the ones described in the specification?
ANSWER: Yes
8. Can you provide a detailed scope of work of what items could be reused for the project? Wiring? Dampers? Valves? Etc.
ANSWER: We cannot provide any further details other than what’s listed in the scope of work.
9. Will there be detailed controls diagrams, points lists, or sequences of operation provided?
ANSWER: Please review the mechanical drawings that were uploaded the solicitation as amendment 1.
10. Number of smoke dampers?
ANSWER: Please review the mechanical drawings that were uploaded the solicitation as amendment 1.
