Solicitation No. 15B50218Q00000027 – Microbial Remediation

Contractor Questions and Answers

1. The paperwork describes a "physical barrier" between inmates and workers, is this in reference to the plastic containment wall as outlined in the mold protocol or is there an actual security barrier that needs to be created as well? If so, do you have any knowledge on what previous contractors have used for such a barricade or what the requirements would be such as no metal screws showing? The physical barrier is in reference to the plastic containment wall as outlined in the Mold Protocol

2. The guards mentioned that debris will need to be held for 3 counts within the walls, are we to pile debris in the loading dock area or will a dumpster be allowed inside this area and removed once the counts have been made? Dumpsters are allowed in the rear dock area. Dumpsters will have to sit through 3 counts for security reasons.

3. Where do we park our vehicles at the South side entrance? I am estimating 1 16' long box truck for equipment and 2 cars or small vans to carry personnel. Upon award of the contract, contractor will be instructed where contractor vehicles and equipment can be parked.

4. Is it possible to open the back door for the kitchen area that exits to the loading dock for a set duration of time (possibly up to 30 minutes)? We are looking at using dry ice blasting within the kitchen areas which displaces the oxygen in the air requiring us to bring fresh air back in to avoid carbon dioxide issues. If this is not possible we shall determine a different cleaning measure. The back door of the kitchen can be open as long as permission is received prior and security personnel is located by the door. The back door can only be left open for a short duration (approximately 30 minutes).

5. If the walk in freezers are determined to be a loss item (contaminated beyond ability to clean) will there be an issue with removal or is this outside the scope of work and require reporting? This is outside the Scope of Work.

6. The guards also mentioned we should not wear khaki, brown, or blue colors as inmates where these.

Are there good colors to wear or any others to avoid wearing for uniforms? Please avoid wearing any khaki colored clothing.

7. Is the prison going to notify their original testing company to return for clearance testing or are we responsible for finding an outside vendor for this? The contractor is responsible for finding an outside vendor for clearance testing.
