The Work includes demolition of existing 24,000 gallon cast-in-place concrete septic tank (including removal and disposal of select material) and construction of a new 20,000 gallon septic tank system consisting of two single compartment 10,000 gallon fiberglass septic tanks connected in series. Work also includes installation of all associated connection piping required to join the tanks and connect the new tank system back to the existing upstream and downstream conveyance piping. The total bid price shall cover all work required by the Contract Documents. All costs in connection with the proper and successful completion of the work, including furnishing all materials, equipment, supplies, and appurtenances; providing all construction equipment and tools;
and performing all necessary labor and supervision to fully complete the work, shall be included in the unit and lump sum prices bid. All work not specifically set forth as to pay item in the Contract Bid Schedule shall be considered subsidiary obligations of Contractor and all costs in connection therewith shall be included in the prices bid.
Payment will be made at the contract lump sum price.
2. All work will be performed under a single contract.
3. Project site location: This project work is located at the monument and visitor services area, Oregon Caves National Monument and Preserve, located in Josephine County, Oregon, approximately 18 miles south of Cave Junction on Highway 46.
1.2 EXISTING UTILITIES
A. There are known underground sanitary sewer/septic system related utilities in the immediate vicinity of the project. The contractor shall make every reasonable effort to locate and avoid.
If Contractor damages an unknown utility, repair utility, and equitable adjustments will be made in accordance with the Changes clause of the General Provisions. Contractor is required to contact Utility Services Alert (USA) and marking any existing utilities prior to trenching or excavation.
1.3 CONTRACTORS USE OF PREMISES

Restore damaged areas, repairing or replacing damaged trees and plants, at no additional expense to the Government. Do not fasten ropes, cables, or guys to existing trees. All equipment shall be thoroughly pressure washed prior to transport to the park to prevent unintentional importation of seed or soil materials. Contractor shall allow for COR to inspect equipment to assure that it is clean prior to entering Park.

Any damage to the existing septic system components to remain in place or to the existing access trail shall be repaired to the satisfaction of the Contracting Officer at the Contractors expense.
B. Archeological Observation: An Archeological Monitor will observe all ground-disturbing site work, including construction of temporary facilities, at all archeologically sensitive areas, from a safe location mutually agreed on by Contractor and Monitor. As new ground is broken, Monitor will examine excavated materials using construction layout centerline and perimeter staking as a reference point to record locations of findings.
C. Discovery of Resources: If Archeological Monitor discovers resources, immediate relocation of the work to a non-sensitive area may be required to allow Monitor to identify and document resources and, if necessary, develop an appropriate mitigation plan. While Archeological Monitor is documenting resources in sensitive areas, Contractor shall relocate work to non-sensitive areas where monitoring is not normally required. If resources are
