A. The COR will measure each pile of material to determine if the quantities are 1500 CY for each base item, and the ordered amount for any option item.
B. The COR will use the formula for the volume of a rectangle: ((cubic feet = L x W x H) / 27) = cubic yards if the piles are in a rectangular shape. Where L is the length of one side of the pile, W is width of the adjacent side of the pile and H is the height of the pile from ground level.
C. The COR will use the formula for the volume of a cone: ((𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐𝑐 𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓 = 𝜋𝜋𝑟𝑟2 ℎ ) / 27) = cubic yards if the piles are in a cone shape. Where r is the radius of the pile and h is the height of the pile from ground level.
D. The allowable variation in quantity is 5% per class size. Refer to FAR clauses 52.211-16 and 52.211-17.
