1. Regarding the 200' of trenching. Is there a detail and/or spec for backfilling? What compaction would you like to attain, and will compaction testing be required?
Answer: No detail or spec for backfilling. Must not let rocks rest on piping when backfilling. Site must be returned to how it appeared before work was started. Contractor may need to remove rocks from native soil to make it more suitable for backfilling.
2. It appears that there are sections of the road that will need to be removed in some of the areas. Some of the areas in Katherines Landing, this appears to be the case. Are there areas in the other locations that also have areas of road that need to be replaced?
Answer: No roads, sidewalks, etc. will be disturbed for this project. If we encounter a location where it is necessary to do this we will move the flusher location up or down the water line until a more suitable location that does not require disturbing asphalt or concrete is found.
3. Will we need to asphalt areas affected? Will compaction testing be required for native soil? Base? or asphalt?
Answer: Native soil will be used for backfilling. If necessary, rocks will need to be removed from within 12" from installed piping.
4. Grubbing. It appears that some grabbing will need to be done to perform work. Will we need to consult with government prior to removing trees?
Answer: Yes, If plants need to be removed the affected plants need to be approved by COR.
