Cooktown Fishing Platform At Wagners we are all about finding long term solutions that provide initial cost benefits as well as the long term financial returns.
Three observation/viewing/fishing platforms installed in the tropics, pummelled yearly by cyclones and extreme weather.
This Boardwalk-Viewing structure in the remote Outback of Australia where temperatures soar to 120F/50C in the day and drop to 15F/-10C at night…… yet both structures look comfortable in their environments, and with a 100 year design life on both structures they should.
Many generations to come will enjoy the visual and financial benefits of choosing WAGNERS CFT components.
Baloon Cave Viewing Platform
FROM THE COAST TO THE MOUNTAINS WCFT HAS THE SOLUTION FOR YOU
100 YEAR DESIGN LIFE:
ANTICIPATED 40 YEARS TO FIRST MAINTENANCE
The Chesterhope Bridge in Hastings New Zealand had no Pedestrian or Cycleway, it was 500 yds / 460 m of sheer hell if you were on foot or cycling.
The options limited the solution to a Clip-On style structure which would separate motor vehicles and pedestrians/cyclists.
The 50 year old structure would limit the dead load of a cantilevered structure – the only viable solution a light weight FRP one, with reduced dead load and the structural integrity to support the live load.
Supplied and installed at 50% of initial estimates using traditional materials in half the expected time with a 100 year design life. Not bad if you can do it.
So it would make sense to talk to Wagners CFT before you commit to a more expensive, less environmentally friendly solution with less longevity.
Why would you accept less?
The story of Wagners Composite Technologies (WCFT) goes back nearly twenty years so we won’t dwell on it too much, other than to say as part of a bigger Global the newly formed CFT division was spawned through hard work and sweat by a few great men.
Their quest was to create an Structural Element to replace timber/ lumber, and steel and to achieve a 100 year design life.
A product that would out last these known basic building materials, and do it with less, if not a zero maintenance out come. The resulting product has gone on to become a versatile success spawning Structural Beams and Elements for Road Bridges, Pedestrian Bridges, Boardwalks, Viewing
Platforms, Light Poles, Wharves, Jetties, Pontoons, Retaining Walls, Verandas, Pool Decks and a hundred other uses, too many to list here.
What you see here in this book is testament of the quality and versatility of the Wagners CFT Fib Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Structural Sections, Girders, I-Beams and U-Beams, along with the other innovative components that make up the product range.
To achieve the 100 year Design Life and the performance standards stated in the independently tested Properties Tables, the product has had to be manufactured to the utmost levels of quality.
The ISO9000 accreditation and the testing regime has been as stringent as preparing a shuttle for a trip into orbit (well nearly). But it is rigorous and relentless to maintain the accreditation.
What’s important here and to understand is that to achieve the highest of foot traffic loads on boardwalks and pedestrian bridges, and spans that exceed those of traditional materials, to exceed the cyclic ramifications of motor vehicle movements, to meet the strict standards applied by engineers and designers on point loads, live loads and deflections when designing and building road bridges Wagners CFT have undertaken years of independent testing and trials to establish proven and tested properties that meet the required engineering required.
To do this Wagners CFT manufacture to a Fibre Reinforced Polymer
Quality Level of GV36 (G – represents the Quality of Glass Fibres, V – represents the highest quality Vinyl Ester Resin that we use and the 36 is for those engineers the Youngs Modulus or the Deflection, Stiffness and
Elasticity (in GPa - 5200 ksi).
Like Steel and Lumber there are different grades within this group and it is the combination of fibre and resin matrix that determines the ultimate strength. The materials Wagners CFT manufacture are of a quality that is far, far above those who might seek to imitate the performance levels and integrity of Wagners CFT Sections and Structural Elements.
All of our elements are tested to far exceed any engineering parameters that are imposed on them, you can be assured that Wagners CFT are the setting the quality bar well above the rest.

ALL LOCATIONS
ERIE COUNTY, NEW YORK STATE, USA
The bridge here is in Erie County, NY State, USA and is one of five installed in the region using Wagners CFT structural FRP beams for tension below the natural axis with a concrete deck for compression above. After twelve years of service in the harsh environment of the Great Lakes region they show zero effects from natures elements and definitely NO Corrosion (the effect of having no steel sub structure)
• Extreme temperature Variation
• Rain – Hail – Snow – Salt and Shine
• In the Mountains or Under the Sea
• All have Zero Effect on the Performance and Longevity of Wagners CFT Sections

Wagners CFT composite structure.
The location doesn’t matter - the longevity does
BENEFITS
Longevity with Minimal Maintenance Wagners CFT will not rot, warp, split or be affected by termites -corrosion and rust are non-existent in the Wagners CFT world, as is shipworm or teredo worm. Salt in the snow season is not an issue either. Wagners CFT is not affected in any way by any of these problematic issues.
Easy Installation Wagners products are not heavy. From prefabricating complex structures to ease of handling, you can be assured of rapid installation.
Inert From marine environments to storing caustic and acidic chemicals, Wagners products will not deteriorate like traditional materials such as timber/lumber, aluminum and steel.

Covertop Mesh Moulded grating is manufactured in an open, heated mould system. Continuous E-glass roving’s are placed in the mould in alternating layers (on one side or two) and completely wetted out with resin. This continuous process produces an integral, one piece construction which provides excellent corrosion resistance as well as bi-directional strength. There are a number of different moulds available resulting in a
