Control System Replacement Project – Hopewell Culture NHP Questions and Answers listed below:

QUESTIONS:

Question # Question Answer/Response

1. Task A says to replace the existing “obsolete” MNB‐

1000 controller with a new BACnet Controller.

The MNB‐1000 controller was replaced last year during a service call with Comfort Systems USA. This controller is still covered under warranty. Also the MNB‐1000 is not obsolete. Currently it is communicating via BACnet/IP. It is not necessary to replace this controller. Do we have to replace this controller?

The MNB‐1000 is to be replaced

2. Task B and Specification says to Replace the ENC‐410 with a Honeywell WEBS N4 JACE Controller or equal.

This is correct. The ENC‐410 is obsolete. CSUSA can provide and install a Schneider or Vykon JACE‐8000.

This is the same as the WEBs JACE but it is a different sticker. The WEBs JACE contains Honeywell licensing for Honeywell controllers which makes it more expensive. Are the Schneider & Vykon JACE’s approved equals?

If the competing product is equal to the Honeywell WEBS N4 JACE Controller in its function and specifications.

It is acceptable.

3. Task C‐G and Specification say to replace the temperature sensors with 20K Honeywell Temperature Sensors. Are any of the existing sensors not working? If not, is this necessary? We sell 10K temperature sensors as they are compatible with the JACE‐8000 & MNB‐1000. The function of the sensors is the same. Is a 10K sensor an approved equal? It seems that Honeywell wants to replace to have their name and sensor on the wall.

The sensors are to be replaced per the SOW. If the function and specifications of the 10K sensor are the same as the 20K sensor the 10K option is acceptable.

4. Based on the work description they have (2) BACnet controllers they want replaced, however on the price schedule they only list one line for the BACnet controller. One is the controller and the other is the interface. Do we need to add the two together into one cost for both of these items?

yes, add the costs together.
