The contract will require the installation of two separate 208 volt, 1 phase dehumidifier units (RCH-1a and RCH-1b) to replace the existing 240 volt, 3 phase unit. The current 20-amp 3-phase circuit for the existing dehumidifier will need to be modified, with two new 2-pole circuit breakers added to the Lower Equipment Level electrical panel to power the two new 1-phase dehumidifiers. An additional electrical disconnect will also need to be installed for the second dehumidifier unit.

The solicitation number is 140P6324Q0029, and the contracting agency is the Department of the Interior National Park Service Midwest Region. The document does not provide further details on the full scope of work, timeline, or pricing for this contract opportunity.

Questions & Answers 140P6324Q0029 Minuteman Missile NHS

Replace Dehumidification System Delta 09 Missile Silo

Question 1:

Is RDH-1a, b one unit that requires a 208 volt, 1 phase circuit or is it two units that require 208 volts, 1 phase circuits?

Government Answer:

RDH-1a and RDH-1b are two separate units. Each unit will require it’s own electrical connection.

Question 2:

The old dehumidifier is 240-volt 3 phase, and the two new dehumidifiers are 240-volt 1 phase. We would need to know where the current three phase, 20-amp circuit is coming from. Then we would have to replace the 3-pole circuit breaker with two 2 pole circuit breakers and add additional wiring from the panel for the second dehumidifier. We would have to add a second disconnect for the second dehumidifier. Is there room for a second disconnect?

Government Answer: The current 3-phase power, 20-amp circuit is coming from the Lower Equipment Level electrical panel – Panel LDB (120/208 volt 3 phase), circuit breaker 22, 24, 26 of Delta-9 Launch Facility. Contractor would clean current contacts, connectors of the existing circuit breakers at 22, 24, 26 for RCH-1a Dehumidifier and circuit breaker 28, 30, 32 for RCH- 1b Dehumidifier. Additional Disconnect would be placed next to the existing disconnect.

Question 3: What circuits do we utilize in the electrical panel on the Lower Equipment Level for Dehumidifier – RCH-1a (20- amp 208 volt), Dehumidifier – RCH-1b (20- amp 208 volt) and Destratification Fan – F1 (20- amp 208 volt).

Government Answer: On Delta-9 Launch Control Facility, electrical panel located on the Lower Equipment Level. The following circuit breakers will be utilized. 1. RCH-1a Dehumidifier (20-amp, 208 volt) - use 22, 24, 26. 2. RCH-1b Dehumidifier (20-amp, 208 volt) -use 28, 30, 32. Destratification Fan – F1 (20- amp 208 volt) - use 27, 29, 31
