South Unite Water Questions

#
Questions
Answer
1
This job appears to have 2 – 1” meters in meter pits, 1 – 1-1/2” meter in a meter pit, and 1 – 2” meter in a meter pit. The specs call out for the meters to be Mueller 500 Series (Bronze) and that they will need to be furnished by the contractor. Would any meters be allowed from any other manufacturer? Like potentially Sensus or will they have to be from Mueller?

Mueller 500 series (Bronze) or equal series would be acceptable at submittal

2
The Mueller Series 500 (Bronze) is showing the sizes available as being only 1-1/2” and 2”. What should be used instead for the 2 – 1” sized meters?

435 series (bronze) would be an acceptable Mueller brand substate or equal

3
The EZ-Vault meter pits are only available for 1-1/2” and 2” meters. Can the meter pits for the 1” meters be the Mueller Thermal Coils? If so, should the size be 15” or 18”
Yes this would be considered
4
The meter pit detail shows an angle ball valve on the inlet side of the meter, but nothing on the outlet side. I wanted to verify that this is correct and no type of additional valve is needed on the outlet side.
Yes this is correct
5
Would Ford meter pits be allowed or must these also be from Mueller?

Or equals would be considered at submittal time

6
Is the service pipe able to be SIDR7 IPS Poly or DR11 HDPE Fusible polyethylene pipe?
DR 11 HDPE would be an acceptable service pipe.

SIDR7 IPS would not be an acceptable service pipe.
