About this file
This document contains questions and answers regarding Amendment 04 to the solicitation for the Pipe Collections Rehab Project opportunity with the National Park Service Midwest Region. The questions and answers address revising the door and frame schedule to specify an alternative fire-rated and safety-rated glass product that allows for a larger glazing area on interior doors. Additionally, clarification is provided that 4-inch vinyl base in the color Almond would be an acceptable alternative to the 6-inch vinyl base specified in Toffee, with the final approved color determined during submittal review.

Question Answer
The door schedule on the drawing does not meet the safety rating requirements. To meet the firelight plus fire rating requirements, it would have to be less than 1 square foot of light in the hollow metal door.
In reference to Sheet 4/27 on the drawings.
Revise Door and Frame Schedule note 1 to provide ‘Pilkington Pyrostop’ in lieu of ‘Firelite Plus’ fire-rated, safety-rated glass ceramic. This product allows larger glazing openings for 60 min. interior doors, product 60-101, 7/8” allowing 4,222 sq-inch.
The plan asks for 6" vinyl base in the color Toffee, the closest we could get would be 4" vinyl base in the color Almond. Is this acceptable?
Alternative colors are acceptable. If Toffee is not available, we would like the color to be as similar as possible. The final approved vinyl color would be determined during the submittal phase.
