Solicitation # 140P6323B005 Jun 2, 2023

Questions and Answer for BADLANDS NP Loop Repair.

# Questions Response 1 Will there be quantities made available for the Asphalt, Gravel, Curb & Gutter, Pipe, Excavation, etc.?

No. Contractors are responsible for determining all quantities associated with this project and for their bids.

Quantity takeoffs can be done using the construction drawings, calculations, and additional documents identified in question 2 below.

2 Is it possible to obtain the digital surface files to calculate the amount of cut/fill for each site?

AutoCAD files associated with the construction drawings can be made available upon request.

3 Will the Owner provide a borrow site?

No. There is no park storage for dirt, gravel, and soils. No construction waste, such as asphalt or concrete, storage will be allowed in the park. These materials shall be removed and disposed of properly.

4 Can the existing topsoil be stockpiled at each site, or will we be required to haul the material to a stockpile site?

Temporary Topsoil can be stored on at the work site in approved areas upon request and within park guidelines, long term/excess topsoil will need to be stored at a off job site service location approved by the COR.

5 On sheet C12, for the MP 11 pullout, when I scale off that drawing, the pull out that is on the SW part of the road is approximately 22’ wide. The plans have it labeled as 16’ wide, and the pullout that is on the NE part of the road does check to my scale at 16’ wide. Is this pullout supposed to be about 22’ wide or is it 16’ as the plans indicate?

The contradictory dimensions are due to contractor error. Two independent checks of the scaled construction drawings have been conducted—16’ shoulder width on both sides of the road is confirmed at MP 11. CAD files were also checked. Additionally, the profile at the top right of sheet C12 shows both widths to be 16’. Recommend contractor check the drawings or the equipment they are using

6 What is to be the asphalt binder for the asphalt paving; PG 58-28, 64-28, or something else?

The binder shall be PG 64-28.
