Question #1: Can you clarify if the single and double doors call for door replacement only with no frame or door replacement with frame replacement?
Answer: Just the doors, but of course they have to be fully operational.
Question #2: Can you provide an explanation about "existing exterior bollards"? Does this mean framing?
Answer: Bollards are the exterior pedestals that the door opening switches are on.
Question #3: Do both doors have to be ADA compliant?
Answer: It’s a Federal building, so yes to the most extent possible, but must have the appearance called for in the specs. We understand that some compromise may have to happen, but ADA compliance is the goal.
Question #4: Who is the existing local vendor and why do we have to use them? If we are to partner with them, to what extent should we use them? What effect would they have on our pricing?
Answer: The existing alarm contacts just needed to be functional and attached correctly. Our local alarm vendor is Omnitech Communications in Bradenton if needed.
Question # 5: For BEST locks, does the single door and double door be under the same key, or should they both have different ones? Does this key have to match existing keys to the facility?
Answer: Yes, both sets of doors must be keyed alike and will use a furnished Best core.
