About this file

This document contains questions received and answers provided regarding solicitation number 140P5222Q0006 for the interpretive design, fabrication, and installation of exhibits at the Depot at Cane River Creole National Historical Park. The National Park Service seeks a mix of high and low tech interactive exhibits for the visitor center, and stationary signage and rotating information for outdoor welcome kiosks. The stated budget range includes design, fabrication, and installation fees. While prior experience from the past six months is requested, experience from the past few years will be considered due to pandemic-related delays. Relevant project examples and pictures may be submitted to demonstrate experience with exhibits related to African American history from slavery through the civil rights era.

QUESTIONS RECEIVED AND ANSWERS PROVIDED

QUES 1: For the Visitor Center Room it is mentioned "interactive opportunities" - do you envision this as low or high tech interactives?

ANS 1: Government team would like to see a mix of high and low tech as technology does fail. With a combination of high and low technology there should always be some interactive exhibits.

QUES 2: For the Welcome Nodes - how many nodes are there? I was unclear from the floor plan provided.

ANS 2: The way Welcome Node is used in the scope it refers to a group of kiosks outside, so visitors can have access to park information when the Depot is closed. We will also want something inside, but that's not called a Welcome Node in the scope.

QUES 3: The Welcome Nodes include the phrase "outdoor kiosks" - is this a station with an interactive or a stationary sign?

ANS 3: The welcome node outdoor kiosks should have stationary signage and the opportunity for rotating information.

QUES 4: Does the stated budget range include both design and fabrication fees? The most recent design-build project we bid on from NPS had the design fees separate from the listed budget, so we wanted to confirm this with you.

ANS 4: Yes, that includes the design, fabrication, and installation fee(s).

QUES 5: Would you like to see resumes of our proposed project team members? We don't see this listed in Factor 1 requirements.

ANS 5: The Demonstrated Prior Experience submission shall focus on (Ref B11 Quote Preparation and Submission Instructions, Phase I – Factor 1):

1. Examples showing proven exhibits that were installed by the quoter, as required in the SOW.

2. Examples showing content development/design for exhibits related to African American

History (Slavery to Civil Rights)

3. Quotes are encouraged to submit pictures of such exhibits. These pictures are limited to five

(5) total pictures, but do not count toward the five (5) page count. The pictures must each be labeled to show which prior experience it is referencing.

QUES 6: Factor 1 for Past Experience requests projects that have been completed in the past 6 months.

Due to the pandemic, very few projects have opened in that time across the country. Is it acceptable to submit relevant projects that have been completed by our team in the past few years?

ANS 6: Each experience shall have been completed at least six (6) months prior to the release date of this solicitation.

QUES 7: I came across the NPS project on the SAM.gov site, but the downloadable files don't seem to be loading. Is there another way to view the documents?

ANS 7: 140P5222Q0006 is posted to beta.sam.gov at the following link. Each document opened and was accessible when I went to the below link and opened them.
