About this file

This document is an Amendment (0001) to a Request for Proposal (RFP) for renovating visitor center restrooms at Thomas Stone National Historic Site. The amendment addresses 17 contractor questions and clarifies multiple project specifications, including removing epoxy flooring from the project scope, confirming touchless accessories, allowing battery-powered flush valves, and verifying no SHPO requirements or ceiling work are included. The project involves a complete restroom renovation within an estimated budget range of $100,000-$250,000, with a period of performance from 08/01/2025 to 11/30/2025.

Key technical clarifications include confirming that: all existing floor tile will be removed and replaced, one triple-hatted SSHO/CQC/Superintendent is acceptable, a standard portable toilet can be used, MC electrical wiring is allowed, solid plastic (HDPE) partitions are desired, and all plumbing work will be internal to the building. The amendment also provides an updated Department of Labor Wage Determination (MD20250113, revised 06/27/2025) and instructs contractors to submit a single Lump-Sum Firm-Fixed-Price proposal for the entire scope of work.
