About this file

This file is a Request for Information (RFI) with 22 detailed questions and responses regarding a security system installation for the National Park Service (NPS) at an I-295 location. The project involves installing three cameras (one exterior PTZ or multi-sensor camera and two interior cameras), a cellular-communicating alarm system with 17 motion and contact sensors, and associated network infrastructure. Key technical details include camera installation heights up to 10 feet, cable length estimates of 200 feet, and infrastructure requirements involving drilling through drywall and masonry walls, with cabling primarily routed through drop ceilings. The system will be a new installation with a standalone monitoring solution, utilizing a provided PoE network switch, router, and WiFi, and must remain separate from the NPS network. The specification emphasizes NDAA/889 compliance and potential future compatibility with MegaCenter monitoring standards.

Can you confirm whether the outdoor camera requires PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) functionality?Yes
What is the height of the highest camera installation point?10'
What is the estimated distance between the furthest camera and the NVR?50-60'
What is the estimated distance between the closest camera and the NVR?15'
What is the total estimated length of cabling required for the installation?200'
What is the estimated total length of conduit required, if applicable?Unknown what is already exisiting, shouldn't be much needed
What type of walls are present in the areas where the cameras will be installed (e.g., drywall, concrete, masonry)?Drywall for interior cameras. Brick/masonry for exterior camera.
Are the ceilings in these areas suspended (drop ceiling) or hard lid (solid ceiling)?Drop Ceiling for interior cameras.
Is there an existing Ethernet raceway system in place (e.g., cable trays, J-hooks, or surface-mounted raceways)?Within Drop ceiling
Will drilling through walls be necessary to complete the cabling infrastructure?Yes, masonry for the exterior camera, drywall on the interior the rest should be through drop ceiling.

There are two exterior door for this office space, one is exit only and they are within 10' of each other.
The specification references an exterior PTZ camera. Does the site view a multi-sensor camera as an acceptable substitute?Yes, we just need to be able to cover both exterior doors.
For the interior coverage, can you confirm the total quantity of cameras required (one at the interior entrance and one for the hallway)?Yes
