PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT

1. PROJECT DATA:

TITLE: PLVC HVAC ALTERATIONS

BUILDING/FACILITY: Province Land Visitor Center and Comfort Station

PROJECT NUMBER: PMIS 332561

CONTRACT NUMBER:

COR: JOHN CULLEN

PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: 180 days

2. GENERAL: The Contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, materials, and equipment to provide repairs to the Province Land Visitor Heating System. Work consists of the following:

1. Repairs existing air handler, AHU-1.

2. Remove two failed hot water unit heaters and replace with new.

3. Remove damaged constant volume box, coil and associated piping designated HC-2.

4. Patch, repair and insulate ductwork and piping at former HC-2 location.

5. Remove damaged constant volume box HC-1.

6. Patch, repair and insulate ductwork and piping at former HC-1 location.

7. Provide one, 3 ZONE, ductless, compact, air conditioning and heating VRF system. Unit shall be

48,000BTU cooling and 54,000BTU heating with three (3) wall mounted indoor units.

8. Provide new 100amp, 208/120 volt, 3phase, 4 wire panelboard to replace LP-1.

9. Provide new 400amp, 3phase, 4 wire, MLO panel to replace wireway, conductors and disconnects.

Option 1: Provide graphical front end for managing building and BAS (Building Automation System) building controllers across the park. Users access via a new web interface. System shall operate as a Microsoft

Windows® application and uses Microsoft SQL Server® for data storage. The province land visitor center shall be assigned its own virtual web and application server. BAS applications shall operate from an installation “on-Premises Server”.

Option 2: Provide VRF central controller with BACnet IP card, programming, and system graphics.

Option 3: Decommission existing pneumatic controls and replace existing pneumatic system with a new

Building Automation System with direct digital control for province land visitor HVAC system in accordance with this statement of work and drawings.

3. DETAILED REQUIREMENTS:

(1) Secure work site and all tools when unattended. Jobsite shall be secure at the close of business each day.

(2) Work within occupied areas of the building and site work is restricted to after Columbus Day (Monday, October 9) and prior to Memorial Day weekend (Thursday, May 23, 2024).

(3) The Contractor competent person shall review and sign Cape Cod National Seashore, Lock out Tag Out acknowledgement prior to the start of work.

(4) All debris removed from the work area at the end of each day.

(5) Minimum installation standards are as follows: NFPA-70 (2020); NFPA-72 (2022); NFPA-90 (2020); 780

CMR Massachusetts State Building Code 10th edition; NFPA 90A (2021), Standard for the Installation of

Air Conditioning and Ventilating Systems; Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National

Association (SMACNA); American Society for Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers

(ASHRAE) Standard 15 (2022); and American Welding Society, Inc. (AWS):Brazing Handbook

A5.8/A5.8M-2004.

(6) The contractor shall contain all area where demolition and dust producing work will occur. Selectively remove existing sheetrock. Utilize HEPA vacuum to ensure all dust is captured and properly removed from the site.

(7) The existing popcorn ceiling shall be treated as asbestos containing material. Do not damage or alter the popcorn ceiling.

(8) Where finishes are altered, patch and paint walls, ceiling, and floor to match existing finishes.

(9) Ductless equipment shall be 2 pipe VRF system with heat pump equal to Mitsubishi Hyper Heating

48,000BTU VRF heat pump. Model MXZ-SM48NAMHZ, 4-ton inverter condenser, cooling, and heating, up to five zones, Seacoast protection (ASTM B117 testing), factory installed base pan heater, heating capacity at -13F, cooling minimum temperature 13F, Noise level cooling 51dB, noise level heating 54dB.

Provide three indoor zones: One GL 9000; One GL12,000; and one GL18000 indoor unit. Equal manufacturers are Johnson Controls, Daiken, and United Technologies.

(10) Provide PVC condensate pump and drain lines. First floor wall units shall be piped and drain to the restroom sink. The basement unit shall be piped to the bldg. exterior. and drain to grade. Unit shall include the following options: condenser fan baffles to allow low temperature operation; Factory installed base pan heater for the condenser unit; Coastal rated condenser and equipment with factory applied corrosion coating for condenser fins; three zone branch distribution unit; Y branch refrigerant kits or header unit; and wall unit condensate pumps.

(11) Provide condensate pumps and piping concealed.

(12) Indoor units shall be provided complete (9,000btu, 12,000btu and 18,000btu) reusable filter, blower, wall mounted thermostat, refrigerant lines, power, and control.

(13) Provide power and control to the indoor units in accordance with manufacturers specification and contract documents.

(14) Insulate refrigerant lines with flexible closed cell elastomeric foam to meet ASTM C-534 and ASTM E-

84.

(15) Ball valves shall be in accordance with ANSI/NSF 61-8 brass ball valve with lever handle for water connection to hot water service.

(16) Water piping shall be copper: ASTM B88, Type K or L, hard drawn.

(17) Brass dielectric fittings are required at transition from copper to steel pipe.

(18) Refrigerant piping shall be copper refrigerant tube, ASTM B280, cleaned, dehydrated, and sealed, marked ACR on hard temper straight lengths. Coils shall be tagged ASTM B280 by the manufacturer.

(19) A refrigerant line or piping run shall include the liquid lines and hot gas lines.

(20) Brazed joints: Comply with AWS "Brazing Handbook" and with filler materials complying with AWS

A5.8/A5.8M. Use Type BcuP, copper-phosphorus alloy for joining copper socket fittings with copper tubing. Use Type BAg, cadmium-free silver alloy for joining copper with bronze or steel.

(21) Refrigeration Valves and accessories shall comply with the following:

a. Stop Valves: Brass or bronze alloy, packless, or packed type with gas tight cap, frost proof and back seating.

b. Pressure Relief Valves: Comply with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code; UL listed. Forged brass with nonferrous, corrosion resistant internal working parts of high strength, cast iron bodies conforming to

ASTM A126, Grade B. Set valves in accordance with ASHRAE Standard 15.

c. Solenoid Valves: Comply with ARI 760 and UL 429, UL-listed, two-position, direct acting or pilot-operated, moisture and vapor proof type of corrosion resisting materials, designed for intended service, and solder-end connections. Fitted with suitable NEMA 250 enclosure of type required by location and normally open closed holding coil.

d. Thermostatic Expansion Valves: Comply with ARI 750. Brass body shall have stainless-steel or non-corrosive nonferrous internal parts, diaphragm and spring-loaded (direct-operated) type with sensing bulb and distributor having side connection for hot-gas bypass and external equalizer. Size and operating characteristics as recommended by manufacturer of evaporator and factory set for superheat requirements.

Solder-end connections shall have testing and rating in accordance with ASHRAE Standard 17.

e. Check Valves: Brass or bronze alloy with swing or lift type, with tight closing resilient seals for silent operation; designed for low pressure drop, and with solder-end connections. Direction of flow shall be legibly and permanently indicated on the valve body.

f. Strainers: Designed to permit removing screen without removing strainer from piping system and provided with screens 80 to 100 mesh in liquid lines DN 25 (NPS 1) and smaller, 60 mesh in liquid lines larger than DN 25 (NPS 1), and 40 mesh in suction lines. Provide strainers in liquid line serving each thermostatic expansion valve, and in suction line serving each refrigerant compressor not equipped with integral strainer.

g. Refrigerant Moisture/Liquid Indicators: Double ported type having heavy sight glasses sealed into forged bronze body and incorporating means of indicating refrigerant charge and moisture indication.

Provide screwed brass seal caps.

h. Refrigerant Filter-Dryers: UL listed, angle or in-line type, as shown on drawings. Conform to ARI

Standard 730 and ASHRAE Standard 63.1. Heavy gage steel shell protected with corrosion-resistant paint;

perforated baffle plates to prevent desiccant bypass. Size as recommended by manufacturer for service and capacity of system with connection not less than the line size in which installed. Filter driers with replaceable filters shall be furnished with one spare element of each type and size.

i. Flexible Metal Hose (Where applicable): Seamless bronze corrugated hose, covered with bronze wire braid, with standard copper tube ends. Provide in suction and discharge piping of each compressor.

(22) Protect refrigerant system during work against entrance of foreign matter, dirt, and moisture; have open ends of piping and connections to compressors, condensers, evaporators, and other equipment tightly capped until assembly.

(23) Where applicable, pipe refrigerant relief valve discharge to outdoors.

(24) Label refrigerant lines every 10 feet with, with “hot gas-PLVC # TON-circuit #” and “liquid- PLVC #

Ton -circuit #.”

(25) Refrigerant lines shall be installed concealed with the building interior.

(26) Exterior refrigerant lines shall be installed surfaced mounted to the exterior wall with a line set cover.

Paint cover to match building color. Where the lines travel horizontally at the exterior, provide 6-inch type

DB PVC underground raceway with sweeps, and install refrigerant lines in the underground raceway. Seal openings weather tight, watertight and seal to prevent rodent entry.

(27) Contractor shall core drill new exterior wall openings to allow piping to enter and exit the building.

Provide openings to allow access for refrigeration lines, power raceway and control raceway.

(28) Provide equipment pad for new condenser, refrigerant piping, controls, electric, disconnect, convenience outlet and raceway sweep. Form equipment pad, provide 4 inches of compacted fill, 6x6 welded wire fabric and 3000lbs concrete mix with pea stone aggregate. Edge finish pad perimeter. Provide steel float finish pad. Contractor shall coordinate size with approved equipment.

(29) All wall and floor penetrations shall be provided with galvanized sheet metal flashing sleeves and made watertight. Close all opening in walls, floors, electrical closets, and corridors with an approved fire stop meeting UL 1479 F or T rating. All other openings through nonrated partitions shall be sealed with a mineral fiber filler or silicone sealant. Finish to match existing wall, ceiling, or floor.

(30) Mechanical room wall, exterior walls and floor penetrations are 2-hour fire barriers. Provide 2-hour fire stop system at each penetration. System shall be UL listed and approved for its use.

(31) After completion of refrigerant piping installation and prior to initial operation, conduct test on piping system according to ASME B31.5. Furnish materials and equipment required for tests. Perform tests in the presence of the COR.

(32) Evacuate system in accordance with the equipment manufactures recommendations.

(33) Evacuate, test and charge system in accordance with the equipment manufactures recommendations and this statement of work.

(34) Insulate hot gas lines and liquid lines with ½ inch think Flexible Elastomeric Cellular Insulation Butt insulation edges tightly and seal all joints with laps and butt strips. Insulation plenum rated and shall meet

ASTM C 534, Type I – Grade 1, ASTM G21/C1331, ASTM C177, C518, k = 0.039 Watt per meter, per degree C (0.27), at 24 degrees C (75 degrees F), flame spread not over 25, smoke developed not over 50, for temperatures from minus 4 degrees C (40 degrees F) to 93 degrees C (200 degrees F). Insulation shall be treated to prevent mold growth per ASTM G21/C1338. Water absorption per ASTM C 209 or ASTM

C1763. Where insulation is used outdoors, paint or protect insulation in accordance with the manufacturer’s standard specification.

(35) Insulate water piping ½ inch and larger with 1 inch think Flexible Elastomeric Cellular Insulation Butt insulation edges tightly and seal all joints with laps and butt strips. Insulation plenum rated and shall meet

ASTM C 534, Type I – Grade 1, ASTM G21/C1331, ASTM C177, C518, k = 0.039 Watt per meter, per degree C (0.27), at 24 degrees C (75 degrees F), flame spread not over 25, smoke developed not over 50, for temperatures from minus 4 degrees C (40 degrees F) to 93 degrees C (200 degrees F). Insulation shall be treated to prevent mold growth per ASTM G21/C1338. Water absorption per ASTM C 209 or ASTM

C1763.

(36) Provide insulation for new ductwork. Insulation shall be 2-inch fiberglass with kraft paper jacket joined tape at each seam. Tape and seal all seams.

(37) Unless shown otherwise shown, all insulation systems shall meet flame spread 25 and smoke developed

50 rating as developed under ASTM, NFPA and UL standards.

(38) Return air damper: provide RuskinCD-60 or approved equal, Low Leakage Control air damper with factory mounted 120-volt electric actuator and DDC. Damper shall be 24 in x 12 in. Control damper via the AHU controller to meet DCV setpoint. Damper shall be complete with override and end switch. BAS monitoring and control shall be via option 1.

(39) Outside air: Provide RuskinCD-60 or approved equal, Low Leakage Control air damper with factory mounted 120-volt electric actuator and DDC. Damper shall be 56 in x 12 in. Contractor to field verify exact size and submit for approval. Control by AHU controller to maintain dcv setpoint. Damper shall be complete with override and end switch. BAS monitoring and control shall be via option 1.

(40) Contractor shall provide start up and balance all HVAC systems. The contractor shall coordinate start up dates with the COR and the government commissioning agent. The contractor shall have the manufacturers (fire alarm, VSD, VRF, controls, etc.) or a factory certified representative of the manufacturer provides system start-up. Provide field report to COR at the completion of each visit and a final report. Startup shall be accomplished at initial equipment start up and at the completion of all contract requirements. (The intent is to demonstrate that the installed unit will perform stand alone and as a complete system.)

(41) Bid Option 1--Provide WEB based building automation system (BAS) with custom color graphics for the repaired air handler, exhaust fan, water sensors, boiler, and temperature sensor. The complete points list is shown on the drawings. System shall provide user access via a work network connected workstation, a BACnet portable operator terminal and the national park service internet WEB browser. System shall provide password protection with administrator assigned user control levels. static IP address. PLVC

Building Automation System (BAS) shall be BACnet/IP with equipment controllers, programming, engineering, startup, and commissioning. Users shall graphics, alarms, setpoint with read/write access via the governments Microsoft Windows internet browser, Microsoft Edge.

(42) Contractor shall utilize Hackett Security (Fire Alarm Company of Record) to remove the existing duct detector, connect, program, and witness the testing for the new duct smoke detector. Installation shall include master box, shunt, testing and coordination with the Provincetown Fire Department. Installation and equipment shall meet NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm Code requirements.

(43) At basement mechanical room, schedule outage for panelboard electrical work. Label and tag each circuit. Remove existing panel LP-1 and replace with new surface mounted 208 volt, 3-phase, 4 wire, 100-amp, panel board with 100amp main breaker. Panel schedule per drawings. Panel shall be NEMA 1, door in door with full piano hinge, standard flush lock with quarter turn fasteners, fully rated, 10KAIC, with copper bussing, 100% neutral, factor mounted neutral bar and isolated ground bar.

(44) Reconnect existing LP-1 loads to new panel LP-1.

(45) At basement mechanical room, schedule outage and selectively remove the existing 6x6 wireway, building service load side conductors, disconnects LP-1 and LP-2. Provide new 400amp, 3 phase, 4 wire, main lug only panel. See drawings. New panel LP shall be surface mounted 208 volt, 3-phase, 4 wire, 400 amp. Panel shall be NEMA 1, door in door with full piano hinge, standard flush lock with quarter turn fasteners, fully rated, 30KAIC, with copper bussing, 100% neutral, factor mounted neutral bar and isolated ground bar.

(46) Unless otherwise noted, electrical conductors shall be THHN/THWN-2 and rated 600 Volts. Conductors size #14 and #12 shall be solid, meet UL 83, UL 1581, NEMA WC 70 Construction requirements and NEC.

Insulation jacket shall Color-coded Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), heat and moisture-resistant, flame-retardant compound be per UL 1063 and UL 83. Jacket with nylon outer covering per UL-1063 and UL-83. Stranded is authorized for conductor sizes larger than #12.

(47) Concealed interior electrical raceway and conductors shall be type AC cable, UL standard 4. System shall be concealed above ceilings and behind walls unless designated for surface raceway.

(48) Connections to vibrating equipment and condensers shall be liquid tight raceway, UL listed 360-03, Liquid-Tight Flexible Steel Conduit.

(49) Unless otherwise noted, exposed electrical raceway shall be rigid intermediate steel conduit (IMC). It shall conform to UL 1242 and ANSI C80.6.

(50) IMC conduit fittings: a. Fittings shall meet the requirements of UL 514B and NEMA FB1; b. Standard threaded couplings, locknuts, bushings, conduit bodies, and elbows shall be steel. Integral retractable type

IMC couplings are also acceptable; c. Locknuts: Bonding type with sharp edges for digging into the metal wall of an enclosure; d. Bushings: Metallic insulating type, consisting of an insulating insert, molded, or locked into the metallic body of the fitting. Bushings made entirely of metal or nonmetallic material are not permitted; e. Erickson (union type) and set screw type couplings: Approved for use in concrete are permitted for use to complete a conduit run where conduit is installed in concrete. Use set screws of case-hardened steel with hex head and cup point to firmly seat in conduit wall for positive ground. Tightening of set screws with pliers is prohibited; f. Sealing fittings: Threaded cast iron type. Use continuous drain-type sealing fittings to prevent passage of water vapor. In concealed work, install fittings in flush steel boxes with blank cover plates having the same finishes as that of other electrical plates in the room.

(51) Expansion and deflection couplings: a. Conform to UL 467 and UL 514B; b. Accommodate a 0.75 in deflection, expansion, or contraction in any direction, and allow 30 degree angular deflections; c. Include internal flexible metal braid, sized to guarantee conduit ground continuity and a low-impedance path for fault currents, in accordance with UL 467 and the NEC tables for equipment grounding conductors; d.

Jacket: Flexible, corrosion resistant, watertight, moisture and heat-resistant molded rubber material with stainless steel jacket clamps.

(52) Raceway Supports: a. Parts and hardware: Zinc coat or provide equivalent corrosion protection.

Where supports are mounted to solid Masonry and Concrete, Anchors with Self drilling expansion shields, or machine bolt expansion.

(53) Close and properly seal all opening between rooms, at corridor walls, chases and in electrical closets with an approved fire stop meeting UL 1479 F or T rating. All other openings through nonrated partitions shall be sealed with a mineral fiber filler or silicone sealant.

(54) Provide expansion coupling at raceway transition from interior to exterior. Seal and make water and weather tight.

(55) Provide interior conduit seal to prevent the buildup of condensation at transition from interior to exterior environment.

(56) Provide raceway and conductors from new 100amp disconnect to a new 120/208volt panel board in the basement, Panel LP-3. Provide 4-#1 THHN + #6 ground in 1-1/2-inch raceway from load side of new fused disconnect to 100-amp main breaker at new 100 amp, 3 phase, 4 wire, 42 circuit, 208/120 volt panel board, panel LP-3.

(57) New panel LP-3-1 shall be fully rated 10kAIC, main breaker, factory furnished neutral and ground bus, door-in-door hinged cover and trim. Provide panelboard with black Phenolic placard with white lettering to read, “Equipment panel, 208/120v, 3 phase and 4 wire, fed disconnect LP”.

(58) Provide panel board with breakers per the panel board schedule.

(59) Provide 5amp, NEMA 3X, Heavy Duty, fused disconnects switch and UL listed liquid tight whips to condenser.

(60) Provide exterior duplex, Heavy duty, GFCI receptacle at condenser(s) in NEMA 3X enclosure with hinged metal cover.

(61) Outlet boxes and junction boxes shall be steel and comply with UL –50 and UL-514A. Boxes larger than

4x4 square shall have hinged covers.

(62) All equipment and materials shall be listed and labeled for their intended use. Equipment and materials not covered by the UL Standards shall be listed and labeled for their intended use by a nationally recognized testing laboratory.

(63) Bid Option 1: Data/voice shall consist of a quad outlet each location. Data jack shall be provided

(furnish and install) complete as follows: plenum rated, 100ohm, 550 MHz, 8 conductor/4-pair, unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable for data and voice wiring; conductors shall be category 6, 4 pair, 23

AWG, UTP cable; Each location shall include quad faceplate, work box, 4-jacks, terminations and jack labels; provide cabling concealed; corridor cabling above ceilings shall be provided using new J-hooks;

provide work boxes and faceplates flush; surface mount boxes and wire mold shall be used where masonry walls are encountered; Cable-Category 6 cable, plenum rated, flame rating per NFPA 262 and

UL 1666 as manufactured by Berk-Tek, category 6, 550MHz or approved equal; Single gang faceplate as manufactured by Ortronics, model TracJack, with four jack opening; Jacks, RJ 45, as manufactured by

Ortronics, model Clarity Tracjack 8P8C 568A/B or approved equal.

(64) Bid Option 1: Provide complete category 6 system from faceplate jack to patch panel. Label each faceplate and jack as follows: 01 –03-XXX; Building Number-Floor Number - jack number; Patch panel shall be labeled to identify corresponding jacks.

(65) Hot water unit heaters: Nominal output 26,100 BTU/HR, adjusted Output 21,831 BTU/HR, entering

Air 60F, Hot water temp 180F, 2.3 GPM, 115V, single phase, 60 Hz. Casings shall be minimum 20-gauge die-formed steel. Casing substrates shall be prepared for finishing to accept specified finish. Paint finish shall be lead-free, chromate free, alkyd melamine resin base and applied with an electrostatic two-pass system. Finish shall be baked at a minimum 300°F. Coil shall be serpentine design with seamless copper tubing. Aluminum fins shall have drawn collars to assure permanent bond with expanded tubes.

Tubing connection shall be 3/8" copper tubing, type “M” (.500 O.D.). Coils shall be factory tested at 250

P.S.I. Motors shall be totally enclosed fan cooled, resilient mounted with class “B” windings. All motors shall be designed for horizontal mounting. Fans shall be of aluminum blade type, designed and balanced to assure maximum air delivery, low motor horsepower requirements and quiet operation. Fan guards shall be welded steel, zinc plated or painted. Guard shall meet OSHA guard standard. Units shall be equipped with horizontal, individually adjustable louvers. Unit heaters shall be thermostatically controlled with single pole manual overload switch for each unit heater. See drawings for additional information.

(66) Variable Speed Drives provide in accordance with specification, 262911 Starters and Drives PLVC.

5. SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Contractor shall provide submittals as indicated in the “Schedule of Contractor’s Submittals” listed at the end of this section.

The Contractor shall furnish to the Contracting Officer, for his/her approval, four (4) prints of all shop drawings, product data, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and catalogue cuts, of all equipment furnished under this contract, before purchase, or manufacturer. The Contracting Officer will examine these submittals and one copy returned to the Contractor for correction, if necessary.

Itemized below is a list of materials requiring drawings, certifications, manufacturer’s literature, data brochures, Safety Data Sheets, technical data, and samples. These materials as noted shall be submitted to the Contracting Officer by the Contractor for approval using the appropriate form approved by the Contracting Officer.

Note that SDS used on this project shall be submitted to the Contracting Officer. Copies of all approved SDS shall be obtained from the Contracting Officer before starting any work requiring submittals as specified. All submittals, except warranties and operating instructions, as noted below, shall be submitted not later than 14 days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed or as specified by the

Contracting Officer.

The Contracting Officer shall return the submittals approved or disapproved within 10 days after receipt. If submittals cannot be made within 14 days after Notice to proceed or as specified by the

Contracting Officer, the Contracting Officer shall be advised of the difficulty and an extension of time requested.

Warranties and operating instructions are required at the completion of the Contract work. Four copies of all warranties and operating instructions shall be provided unless otherwise specified.

6. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

A. The Contractor shall comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local legal requirements regarding workers health and safety. The requirements include but are not limited to, those found in Federal and State

Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) statutes and regulations, such as applicable provisions of Title

29, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Parts 1910 and 1926. Contractor is solely responsible for determining the legal requirements that apply to activities and shall ensure safe and healthful working conditions for its employees.

B. Contractor shall assume the responsibility to guard against causing of fires and/or explosions and to protect

Government Property.

C. The Contractor shall perform the work in a manner consistent with the area security and fire safety regulations especially with regard to exits and exit way access. Utility shutdowns shall not compromise security, communication, or fire safety for occupants.

D. No flammable liquids shall be stored or used in the medical center.

E. The necessary number and appropriate types of portable fire extinguishers are required per National Fire

Protection Agency (NFPA) 10 and NFPA 241.

F. The Contractor shall receive from the COR a permit for all cutting, welding, and soldering. All permits shall be prominently displayed during all work.

G. All necessary precautions shall be taken by the contractor to prevent accidental operation of any existing smoke detectors or sprinkler heads.

7. HAZARDOUS MATERIAL REPORTING:

A. The Contractor shall maintain hazardous material inventories and material safety data sheets (MSDS) for all hazardous materials (as defined in CFR 1910.120, 40 CFR’s 355, 370, & 372) to be stored and used on this

Medical Center. Hazardous materials must be inventoried when received and at the project’s completion. The amounts used shall be maintained for the project duration, and for the calendar year (ending 31 December).

B. Hazardous Materials Inventories, Material Safety Data Sheets and material quantities used shall be submitted to the Contracting Officer for approval.

C. In the event of a spill, Contractor shall immediately notify the Contracting Officer’s Technical

Representative (extension 5138) as well as the Contracting Officer. The Contractor shall be solely responsible for the expense of any cleanup of such spill, and the cleanup shall be in accordance with the applicable provisions of 40 CFR Part 761.

8. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION:

In order to provide for abatement and control of all environmentally hazardous materials arising from demolition and/or work activities, the Contractor shall comply with all applicable environmentally hazardous material control and abatement and all applicable provisions of the Corps of Engineers’ Manual EM 385-1-1, “General Safety Requirements” as well as the specific requirements stated elsewhere in the Contract

Documents.
