Request for Quote 140P1121Q0015 Amendment Number 0001 Everglades National Park Wayside Design Build of Exhibits

DESCRIPTION OF AMENDMENT

The purpose of this amendment is to respond to questions received by the date and time specified in Solicitation Number 140P1121Q0015 – Everglades National Park – Design/Build of Wayside Exhibits.

1. Will it be required to provide the tactile maps (i.e. 3D layer) referencing exh. 260 or is it limited to the digital files?

RESPONSE: Provide production files (i.e. 3D layer) and cost estimates for tactile map for Ex 260. The files are to be fabrication ready. Fabrication of tactile map is not required.

2. Will we need to source a sculptor/fabricator for items similar to exh 261 Bronze Alligator, or is it limited to the digital files?

RESPONSE: A source is not required for the Bronze Alligator. Design drawings, reference package, and cost estimate are required.

3. I am hoping to find out if there is an incumbent contractor currently performing these services, if similar services have been performed in the past, or if this is a new requirement.

If this is a follow-on requirement, could you please provide the previous contract or task order number?

RESPONSE: This is a new requirement.

4. Please confirm that this is a design-only RFP and that fabrication of the graphic panels, structures, sculptures and interactive elements is not part of the scope of work.

RESPONSE: Correct

5. Please confirm that fabrication detailing is only required for the four interactives and that all other graphics will use standard NPS-style bases and structures.

RESPONSE: Correct

6. Please confirm that the scope of work for the alligator nest sculpture includes submittal of a reference package for the sculpture, design drawings for mounting the sculpture and creating the base and text panel, and production-ready graphic file for the braille text panel, but does not include the actual artistic creation of the three dimensional alligator nest sculpture.

RESPONSE: Correct

7. Please confirm that a work plan and/or project schedule is not required for this proposal. If a work plan is required, are there milestone dates for the phases of work and how much time is needed for review of design deliverables?

RESPONSE: 2.1.2 requires a project schedule to be provided seven working days prior to the post award meeting. Milestones are listed in 4.1.

8. Please confirm that Schedule D reflects the scope of work in terms of number and size of waysides.

RESPONSE: Attachment D - Yes.

9. Are the contemporary images available on the Park’s Flickr site free of charge and of sufficient resolution for a wayside?

RESPONSE: Images on Park’s flicker account are free of charge. Contractor shall determine if size is of sufficient resolution for use.

10. Is it acceptable to include as work samples examples of outdoor wayside programs that are associated with museums and visitor centers, but are not in a park?

RESPONSE: Yes, outdoor interpretation only.

11. Page 7 "3.4 Interactives: Design and provide fabrication cost estimates for the following..."Does Everglades National Park have an established relationship with a sign manufacturer and/or a fabrication company that the Park would like to keep working with for this project?

RESPONSE: No

12. Page 12, 5. Period of Performance "All work, including review and approval, shall be completed on or before December 20, 2022."

Is there an anticipated start date?

RESPONSE: Start date shall beginning immediately after award.

13. Page 13 "Upon completion and acceptance of the following deliverables, the contractor shall be paid a firm-fixed-price as shown below:" Are you able to tell us the amount of funding available for this project?

RESPONSE: Funding amount will not be released.

14. Page 25 of 64, 13.4 Volume IV Past Performance With regards to past performance, if a subcontractor is named as key personnel, must their past performance have been completed with the Prime contractor?

RESPONSE: No

May illustration examples be provided that are subject matter relevant (wetlands, intertidal, ecosystems), but were not created for wayside exhibits?

RESPONSE: See 13.1, Sub-Factor 1. The sample projects shall demonstrate the ability of the proposed personnel to manage, plan, and design outdoor exhibits.
