BEATY BUTTE GRAZING PIPELINE SOLICITATION NO. 140L4321Q0011
BLM LAKEVIEW DISTRICT AMENDMENT 0002
REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION NOS. 1 – 6.
1. RFI #1: Anticipated Start Date: There are several different start dates mentioned. What is the anticipated start date for the project? RESPONSE: Estimated start date is 4/1/2021, pending award. If award is not issued in time for a 4/1/2021 start date, work will be as early as possible.
2. RFI #2: Depth of cover? I haven’t located how deep the line will need to be installed. Given the area I’d assume that freezing is possible so I’m guessing at least 3 to 3.5’ but it’s not specified that I can see. RESPONSE: This is an above ground pipeline.
3. RFI #3: Access - You can’t tell from Google where you will have to come into the BLM area. It could take 2-3 hours just to get to the job site from something that resembles civilization so we’ll need to know where they expect the contractor to come in and out of the project area. There’s a persons name in the document to contact about getting a site visit but would this person be able to give information verbally or via email about how to get in and out? RESPONSE: Access is gained via Beaty Butte Loop Road which leaves Highway 140 at the Oregon-Nevada state line, or at the base of Daughtery Slide on Highway 140. A map is currently unavailable but can be provided upon request.
4. RFI #4: Will any hydrostatic testing of the installed line be required? ANSWER: No.
Hydrostatic testing is not required.
5. RFI #5: Do they have any pictures of a typical valve box / ARV valve installations? ANSWER:
No valve box pictures available. However, the box shall be concrete or any other design that would protect the valves.
6. RFI #6: Are there GPS coordinates or better map views available? ANSWER: Starting points Dismal Spring Lat 42 25’ 41.75N Long 119 20’ 4.45W; Buena Vista Lat 42 25’ 12.49 N Long 119 19’ 26.96; Ending point Lat 42 30’ 20.39 Long 119 10’ 42.21
