About this file

The document is an Amendment Questions and Answers file for Solicitation Number 140L3725Q0036, a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) project in the Idaho Region involving the Chelsea Skyline Mechanical Fuels Reduction project. The amendment addresses two specific inquiries: availability of georeferenced maps and potential biomass disposal methods.

In response to the first question, BLM has attached two georeferenced maps in amendment 0002, with access to project units requiring coordination through adjacent private properties. Regarding biomass disposal, BLM indicates that while the current project's remote location makes air curtain incinerators (ACIs) impractical, they are considering such disposal methods for future projects with better access. The solicitation appears to focus on mechanical fuels reduction, though specific project details beyond access and potential biomass handling are not extensively elaborated in this document.

Amendment 0002 Questions and Answers

1. Do you happen to have georeferenced maps or shape files available for the above project?

Answer: Two Georeferenced Maps have been attached in amendment 0002. If the contractor would like to scout these units, they will need BLM to coordinate access through adjacent private properties. Reach out to COR/POC for requests.

Amendment 0003 Questions and Answers

1. Would there be a possible need for disposal of biomass and slash products using ACI’s or air curtain incinerators in this manner for this project or any others you might be involved in?

Answer: Because this project is located far enough from roads or good access points, we are unlikely to need these services. However, we will have future projects that have much better access, and the disposal of the biomass and slash will be something we consider.
