PROLOGUE
NIFC 215-GBK ACCESS CONTROL
This project includes the expansion of the access control system at 215-Great Basin Cache (GBK). Project includes architectural and electrical work for a complete and operational access control system.
General information about 215-GBK and the project is provided below. See the Bid Documents for specific information on the project.
1. Installation Requirements: The access control system shall be installed by an AMAG factory trained/certified technician and be a factory authorized integrator.
2. Construction Period: The construction period for this work is beginning of September 2019 to mid-December 2019.
3. Building Occupancy: The buildings will be fully occupied during this construction project. Contractor shall coordinate any power disruptions with the COR prior to disruption. Contractor shall provide all safety barriers required for overhead work.
4. Existing Building Construction: 215-GBK is a concrete structure building with some metal stud and gypsum board finished interior walls. It is single level warehouse with a partial upper level. The original building construction occurred in 1968 with an addition constructed in 1994.
5. Security: NIFC is a secure site with a controlled security entrance.
a. Prior to commencing work, the contractor shall provide a list to the Contracting Officer containing names for all contractor personnel who will work on NIFC.
b. All contractors’ personnel shall present an official US Government or State Government issued photo identification at the security gate. ID’s will be compared to the contractor’s personnel list.
c. All the contractors’ personnel shall wear NIFC furnished visitor badges in a visible location at all times while on the campus, and return the badge at the end of each day, or at the completion of the project. Badge turn in is at the discretion of the NIFC Security Manager.
d. Contractor personnel shall not enter the site more than 30 minutes prior to the start of the scheduled workday and must leave the campus within 30 minutes of the scheduled workday completion.
6. Airport Ramp Access: This building has direct access onto the airport ramp. Contractor work includes work on doors that access the ramp. Contractor shall coordinate scheduled work days on these doors with the COR for government escort a minimum of three days prior to scheduled work. Contractor shall not access the ramp without government escort.
7. Work Hours: Construction work shall be conducted during regular office hours which are 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Work during holidays, evenings, nights, and weekends may be allowed as approved by the Contracting Officer.
