Pre-Bid Questions and Answers https://beta.sam.gov/ Notice ID: 140L1721Q0003

Q: What are the requirements for the relocated fire rings?

A: The foundation of the relocated fire rings shall be the same as the foundation for the new fire ring, shown on sheet 5. Gravel shall be placed around the relocated fire rings as shown on sheet

5. A separate bid item will not be added to the bid schedule for this work. Include the cost for this work in an existing line item that is most closely associated with the work.

Q: Can organic woody material, logs, clearing slash, and clearing debris be chipped on site?

A: Yes, material may be chipped instead of hauled off site. Chipped material shall be spread such that the maximum chipped material thickness is 2 inches.

Q: What are the specs on the site number identification signs?

A: See section 12 93 00, paragraph 2.3.

Q: I would like to clarify the type of Gate that is being requested. Can I get the specifications on the gate needing to be built?

A: The gate is shown on the plans, sheets 6 & 7, and specifications section 05 50 12.

Q: We are looking over the specs and I did not see a vendor for the gate. I was wondering If you had some suggestions for the gate or is it one that needs to be built?

A: The gate is not available from a specific vendor, it will need to be built. Gate requirements are shown on the plans, sheets 6 & 7, and specifications section 05 50 12.

Q: Is 5000 PSI bagged concrete acceptable for the steel gate posts?

A: Yes, acceptable for the steel gate posts and the fire ring foundations.

Q: Are any utilities available on site? During the site visit, we saw some electrical lines and some water pipes but were not sure if they were active.

A: The BLM is not aware of any utilities within the Box Elder Campground. Dolores County has utilities in the area around the boulder borrow location and along the county road. The contractor shall locate utilities as required to complete the work. Any use of utilities would have to be coordinated with the utility user by the Contractor. The BLM will not aid in the coordination with the utility user regarding contractor use of utilities.

Q: Does the contractor need a Dolores county road use haul (multi-trip fee) permit?

A: Yes. Also, the contractor shall obtain any state and local permits required to complete the work.

This project does not negate state and local requirements.
