About this file

This document is a Statement of Requirements for a Near IR Diode Array Spectrometer. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Polymers Processing Group requires a broad-band near IR spectrometer to complement their existing UV-VIS spectrometers for in-situ studies of electrochemically functional thin films.

The key requirements include: an Ocean Optics NIRQuest+1.7-50 Near IR Spectrometer with 50-micron entrance slit, 900-1700 nm frequency coverage, 3.2 nm nominal resolution, and a bifurcated optical fiber compatible with their existing equipment. The contractor must provide a 3-year warranty on the spectrometer and 1-year warranty on the fiber and software. Delivery is required within 30 days of award. Acceptance testing will be completed within 7 days of receipt of all deliverables. This is a brand name only procurement under a Request for Quotations (RFQ) solicitation with full and open competition. The associated NAICS code is 334516 - Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing.

REQUIREMENTS

NearIR Diode Array Spectrometer

I. BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The Polymers Processing Group (PPG) in the Material Measurement Laboratory of NIST performs state-of-the-art in situ studies of electrochemically functional thin films. Essential to the success of these studies are simultaneous, broad-band, spectroscopy measurements enabled by diode array spectroscopy systems integrated into custom electrochemical apparatus. To meet its mission, PPG requires a broad band near IR spectrometer to complement existing ultraviolet (UV) to visible (VIS) spectrometers, and a bifurcated optical fiber for incorporation into our existing apparatus.

II. SPECIFICATIONS

The Contractor shall provide one of each item listed below to ensure the components match existing hardware. The items and specifications include:
