Text version

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and National Reconditioning Center (NRC) in Grandview, MO has a requirement to purchase two hundred twenty five (225) AAK brand power supplies, item #CT15.15-.3SP.

Delivery Address

NRC

14200 Merritt Road Grandview, MO 64030 AAK Brand Name Justification NRC requires AAK brand power supplies to replenish logistics supply stock for the ASOS system visibility sensor. The ASOS system provides meteorological data at the surface to support the NWS forecast and warning mission. All spares for fielded equipment in this program are required to identical to the item which is currently in use in the field.

Introducing a substitute power supply brand, other than AAK, would adversely impact the performance of the visibility sensor and system availability. Acceptance of any item other than the original equipment would require testing to be completely re-accomplished. That testing would involve significant funding and time, which would affect the NWS mission to protect life and property by providing timely and accurate weather forecasts and warnings.
