Questions/Answers/Statement Document
Question:
Is tree planting part of the solicitation?
Response:
No
Has this property been farmed recently?
Yes, 2017. No saplings were present during site showing in the area of interest.
Are core trenches or exploration trenches required?
No. Core trenches are not required to complete bid items 2, 4, 5, or 6. Exploration trenches are not required.
Is NRCS wanting contractor to perform seeding before Fall?
Yes. No temporary seeding required. You can seed as early as August 1st.
Does NRCS want contractor to quote Schedule 40 pipe?
Yes. Bid items 4, 5 and 6 require schedule 40 PVC pipe. Schedule 40 is widely available in this smaller size.
Statement:
The current landowner resides in Ohio. The site is currently up for sale. The project area is a hard hat area and must be posted.
Response:
Do not take direction from anyone on site as interested buyers may be on site during construction looking at property. If they request/advise, please ask them to contact NRCS – Andrew Fulton for assistance.
Question:
Will the site be using Benchmark and Grade Staking?
NRCS requests contractor to use Toe Staking for fill. NRCS will provide benchmarks to awardee.
Can you provide a sample Irrevocable Letter of Credit?
Interested parties shall provide either Payment Bond or Irrevocable Letter of Credit within 10 days after award.
Sample ILOC is attached. The surety being used must reside on the Treasury Department Circular 570 list found at the following link. BOND WILL BE REJECTED IF BONDING COMPANY IS NOT LISTED IN THE
TREASURY DEPARTMENT CIRCULAR 570.
