RESPONSE TO REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

REFERENCE: Solicitation 12805B21Q0424 – Sanitary Pipe Replacement at Beltsville, MD – Pre-Proposal Request for Information (RFIs)

Governments Responses to Questions

1. In Section C of the SOW, under “Piping Installation:” it is indicated that all hangers and supports are to be supplied by contractor. Please confirm that all piping is under slab as shown during the site walk.

Confirmed all piping shall be under slab as indicated in the site walk and SOW attachments.

2. In Section C of the SOW, under “Inspection and Cleaning:” it is noted to flush pipes, inspect, and test piping per AHJ. Additionally, it states to disinfect the sanitary piping per AHJ procedures. Please provide the requirements for inspections, testing, and disinfecting specific to this scope of work.

Contractor shall refer to AIA Masterspec Division 22 00 00 and Sections 3.9.3 to 3.9.4.

3. During the site visit it was discovered that the sanitary pipe shown to be demoed is located underneath existing equipment inside of the mechanical space adjacent to the milk room. Please confirm that the new pipe will be rerouted and existing piping to be left in place. Please provide updated sketch for pricing.

Confirmed the new 4-inch sanitary pipe will be rerouted and existing Mechanical Room piping shall be left in place. Refer to the attached revised PDFs.

4. Section I of the SOW states that there will be continuous monitoring for noise, dust, chemical vapor generation, volatile organic compounds, and vibration. The contractor would like the government to please identify how monitoring and reporting of this nature will be completed in a manner that is not impacted by the facilities daily condition. The project scope will be completed on an operational milking parlor with outdoor exposures, large animals, and animal waste present in the facility. Contractor would like to propose that all noise, dust, fumes, and vibration will be kept to a minimum in coordination with onsite COR and the Milk Parlor Supervisor to ensure that the milking process and the animals are properly always protected.

Approved Contractor shall keep all noise, dust, fumes and vibration shall be kept to a minimum and coordinated with the COR and Milk Parlor Supervisor.
