Questions/Answers:

1. Bid due date? Bid receipt date is May 11, 2018 at 2:30 EST.

2. Start and Completion Date? 60 day contract from issuance of the Notice to Proceed; there is some flexibility on start date. Solicitation does show a June 4 NTP date however that may not be a reasonable timeframe. (Carl C. noted that lead times on coolers running 6 weeks+) This may require negotiation on start date. Cooler complete/operational prior to next planting storage/planting season - Spring 2019.

3. Is there water and heat to building? Yes.

4. Is patching the “asphalt” required where utilities are run? No, it is already in very poor condition.

Compact backfill and surface with aggregate as in non-surfaced areas.

5. Also discussion regarding the condensate disposal recommendations and details for condensers and unit heater as follows:

Condensate from Unit heater: Plan sheet M1.01 reads:

This will be changed to: Drain from vent and heat exchanger to neutralizer tubes then combine to shared heat tape wrapped exit from building – 18”-24” above grade. (SEE Attachment 2)

How are we disposing of condensate from evaporator coils? The drawings on S1.01 show condensate drain and trench section details. The quantity and final location of these drain/trenches will need to be coordinated between the cooler manufacturer and construction contractor. Condensate pumps mentioned; reliance on condensate pumps is not desired for condensate disposal.

6. Building framing is not explicitly laid out in drawings nor are all the cooler details. The intent was to not preclude competition from vendors though manufacturers were contacted during design process and typical/standard construction details were included in drawing.
