About this file
This document contains questions and answers regarding specifications for a benchtop centrifuge being procured by the Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service Field Research Implementation and Information Delivery Midwest Area under solicitation number 12505B23Q0179. The centrifuge must be able to spin at approximately 25,000 x g with fixed angle rotors and 7,000 x g with swinging rotors. It must include adapters for 96-well plates in both standard and deep well formats as well as 15mL and 50mL conical tubes. While adapters for 150mL bottles are preferred, quotes should specify if this capacity is not available. Both angle and swinging rotors must be supported to accommodate different tube sizes.

Quesons and Answers
Q: Do you have a loading dock?
A: Yes
Q: Do you require ligate service?
A: No
Q: How fast does the centrifuge need to spin?
A: approximately 25,000 x g with fixed angle and 7,000 x g with the swinging rotors
Q: Do you need angle rotor or swing rotor?
A: Both potenally since the larger tubes likely can’t be swing rotors
Q: Is this only for 1 centrifuge?
A: Yes
Q: The request menoned different capacies (96 deep well, 96 well standard), adapters for 15 and 50 mL conical tubes, as well as 150 mL botles. What capacity are you looking for in the single centrifuge if it’s just want? (Considering that 150 mL botles is 10 mes of 15ml tube capacity)
A: We need adapters for all of the following tubes listed. If we can’t get an adapter for 150mL botle with a parcular unit then please state that when the quote is submited. We’ll need to assess whether we can find an alternave for our 150mL botles. However, rotors for 96 well plates (standard and deep well) as well as 15 and 50mL tubes must be included for the benchtop centrifuge.
