Question 1: Is there a load dock or forklift available? What are the hours of operation?
Answer 1: Yes, 0700hrs-1600hrs (7AM to 4PM)
Question 2: Will your team be moving the batteries from the loading dock to the UPS?
Answer 2: No, contractor will be responsible for moving batteries to UPS location
Question 3: Will there be a handcart or pallet jack available for use?
Answer 3: Yes
Question 4: What is the approximate distance from loading dock and/or shipping drop to UPS location?
Answer 4: Located in the basement, approx. 500 ft.
Question 5: Does the flooring need any protectant (floor covering)? If yes, how many feet?
Answer 5: No, but any equipment used by the contractor needs to be free of nails, screws and debris imbedded in the wheel surfaces.
Question 6: What floor is the UPS (battery replacement) on?
Answer 6: Basement
Question 7: Is there a freight elevator if not on ground floor? What is the approximate weight capacity?
Answer 7: Yes, freight elevator is rated for 5000 lbs.
Question 8: Are there any narrow doorways that would not permit standard pallet (40”x40”) or any other obstructions (carpet, etc.) from the loading dock or shipping drop to the UPS location?
Answer 8: No
Question 9: Are equivalents acceptable?
Answer 9: Yes, if they meet the requirements in the Statement of Work.
Question 10: Will this be performed during normal business hours or off hours?
Answer 10: During normal business hours
Question 11: List required equipment for this delivery (lift gate, pallet jack, dolly, or other equipment?)
Answer 11: Pallet jack, truck capable of hauling heavy batteries to a loading dock for standard semis.
Question 12: What is the approximated distance from the delivery vehicle location to the final inside delivery location?
Answer 12: 500 ft.
Question 13: What is the weight capacity of the freight elevator?
Answer 13: 5000 lbs.
Question 14: Are there any steps or ramps in the path the inside delivery location?
Answer 14: No
Question 15: What is the narrowest door way width?
Answer 15: Door to the UPS room is standard door width 36”
Question 16: What types of floors are inside the building? Tile, Wood, Marble, Laminate, Carpet, etc.
Answer 16: Dock area (concrete)-UPS room (concrete floor)-Small section of rubber floor tile on concrete floor deck to get into freight elevator, elevator floor is aluminum tread plate, mostly concrete throughout.
Question 17: Is it okay for the driver to use a pallet jack to move the pallets to the inside delivery location?
Answer 17: Yes
Question 18: Do the floors need to be protected by Masonite or plywood?
Answer 18: No
Question 19: Do pallets need to be broken down by the delivery driver?
Answer 19: No.
Question 20: Can the pallets be brought to the room and parts restacked on them?
Answer 20: Yes
Question 21: Do the pallets need to be taken off site when they are unloaded?
Answer 21: Yes
Question 22: How long can the batteries be on site until disposal?
Answer 22: We prefer a week or less.
Question 23: Where can the batteries be stored for disposal?
Answer 23: We do not store used batteries, we only allow the Contractor to stage the used batteries that have been placed on pallets on our loading dock for pickup by the truck driver.
