Part 1 – The Schedule
Buncombe Trail Bridge Section C – Description and Specifications
C.1 Project Scope
a. This project is comprised of all required labor, equipment and materials necessary to perform the following work:
b. Work includes but is not limited to: Removal, salvage, and disposal of the geogrid from a failed low water crossing. Stockpile salvaged geogrid for use in the project. Properly dispose of unsalvageable geogrid off of Forest Service Lands. Fabrication and installation of a FRP truss bridge and substructure. Substructure consists of precast concrete blocks, earth anchors, and geogrid substructure.

The intent of the contract is to provide for the complete construction of the project described in the contract. Unless otherwise provided, the contractor is to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies and perform all work required to complete the project in reasonably close conformity with the drawings and specifications, and in accordance with the provisions of the contract. Payment for contract work will be made only for and under those pay items included in the Schedule of Items. All other work and materials will be considered as incidental to and included in the payment for items shown.
d. Once construction begins on site, activities will be limited to 30 consecutive days.
Location: The project site is located at approximate Mp 1.10 from the east trailhead of the Buncombe Horse Trail. The Buncombe Horse Trail east trail head is located at 36°26.157’ North, 81°40.897’ West, approximately 10.5 road miles west of the Enoree Ranger District Office in Whitmore, South Carolina. To drive to the east trailhead of the Buncombe horse trail, from the Enoree Ranger district office, drive north 0.7 miles on US-176 W. Turn left onto Old Newberry Highway for 4.3 miles, continuing onto State Rd S-36-36 for 260 feet. Turn left onto SC-66 W for 350 feet. Turn left onto Jalapa Road for 3.4 miles. Turn right onto forest Road 356 (Cromer Rd.) for 1.8 miles to the Eastern trail head of the Buncombe Horse trail. Please see the map below.

Price Range: Between $100,000 and $250,000

The requirements contained in the specifications are hereby made a part of this solicitation and any resultant contract.
