About this file
This is a technical specifications document for a macro nitrogen analyzer required by the Dale Bumpers National Rice Research Center, a USDA-ARS facility located in Stuttgart, Arkansas. The nitrogen determinator will utilize the Dumas method to measure protein content in rice samples, supporting research into the chemical composition, sensory quality, processing characteristics, cooking performance, and nutritional value of new rice lines.
The specifications require a nitrogen determinator with a mounted touch screen interface capable of holding up to 100 samples, paired with a Windows-based PC and dedicated nitrogen analyzer software. The complete package must include installation and operational training, gas regulators for air, oxygen, and inert gases, and a precision balance with a 120-gram capacity reading to 0.1 milligram with interface kit. Additional requirements include a consumables kit for training and initial operation, rice flour reference material, customer support accessible via phone and email, and a minimum one-year full manufacturer's warranty. The related solicitation (1232SA26Q0467) specifies procurement of a Leco Corporation 928 Series Macro Nitrogen Determinator, with delivery required to the research center at 2890 Highway 130 East, Stuttgart, Arkansas 72160.
