Task orders under this contract may be issued for work by warranted Contracting Officers on any National Forest. However, the predominate amount of the work will be for the Colville National Forest with only occasional task orders outside the Forest and only with the Contracting Officer approval.

The typical design service task order would be for a project with an estimated construction cost of approximately $500,000 or less. However, design task orders for larger projects may be issued. Project access can vary from easily accessible sites to sites in the wilderness where motorized use is restricted.

The contract shall be with an Architectural/Engineering (A/E) firm. Subcontractors performing specific design services shall be responsible to the prime A/E firm and design professional. The work shall be of high quality and contracted for at a reasonable price, and performed in an efficient manner with a minimum number of change orders. The Contractor shall have the ability to:

• Inspect, document and provide conditions surveys for existing facilities

• Provide preliminary and final design engineering services

• Estimate the cost of the design and construction work

• Provide construction support and inspection services
