NO MORE QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED AT THIS TIME!!!
Questions and Answers
1. Once the contract is awarded, will it be possible to revisit the trailers to verify hookups/measurements and etc ?
ONLY the vendor awarded the contract will have access to the trucks and trailers if needed. They will need to contact:
Rick Crouch
Office 870.543.4068
Cell 870.370.5099
Email rcrouch@ora.fda.gov
The trucks are located at:
3900 NCTR Road
Jefferson, Arkansas 72079
2. "Two customized 2008 F650 crew cab trucks *BRAND NAME OR EQUAL TOO*", however the pictures that are included as attachments and being depicted as part of the solicitation are Super Cabs. There is a clear difference in size and price of these two cabs. The crew is approximately $2,000 more expensive. Our goal is to deliver to you the best product, at the lowest price, and ahead of the intended schedule. To that end please clarify as to which cab you want us to quote.
The pictures that were sent with the solicitation could be confusing as there were pictures of both trucks a "crew cab" and a "super cab". The one we want submitted in the bid is the "CREW CAB".
3. My biggest concern is that the decision has already been made, the two trucks are selected and the bid may just be a formality. The reason I say that is, the specs are very specific and the delivery time frame has a very short fuse. Also FORD motor company is producing 2009’s not the 2008 as requested. What are your thoughts?
The specs for the requirement are CUSTOMIZED specs. And If a vendor can meet the specs with a 2009 model and be the lowest bidder It won’t be a problem.
4. We have a concern over the chassis specifications called for in the above referenced RFQ. It calls for '29,000# GVWR.' The problem is, the rest of the specs as written will only yield a 26,000# GVWR chassis. In order to get to 29,000#, the frame must be upgraded, axle capacities upgraded to 10,000# front/19,000# rear, and the tires and wheels to 22.5" diameter. The 22.5" wheels are only available in painted steel, not polished aluminum.
The question is, do you really want a 29,000# GVWR unit? So equip it will change the look, performance, and the price of the delivered vehicle.
The solicitation states "MAX 29,000 lb GVWR" not that it has to be a 29,000 lb GVWR.
