About this file

This statement of work outlines requirements for a multi-year service contract for Life Technologies microarray equipment. The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences Molecular Genomics Core utilizes fluidics stations, an autoloader, hybridization oven, and microarray scanner from Life Technologies to perform gene expression analysis. The current service contract expires on December 31, 2023. The statement of work specifies that the new multi-year contract from 2024 to 2027 would provide yearly maintenance checks, on-site repairs, and required software upgrades to maintain operation of the equipment. It identifies key deliverables and timelines, with the assumption that pricing will be based on the contractor's quote. Life Technologies is identified as the sole source for maintenance and support of their proprietary microarray equipment.

1.0 INTRODUCTION/OVERVIEW

The Molecular Genomics Core (MGC) utilizes the fluidics stations, Autoloader, Hybridization oven, and Microarray Scanner for performing experiments to assess gene expression changes. Our current service contract expires on December 31, 2023. This PO would be used to purchase a multi-year service contract (base+3 years) to ensure efficient long-term operation of our instrument and uninterrupted service coverage.

1.1 BACKGROUND

The Life Technologies fluidics stations, Autoloader, Hybridization oven, and Microarray Scanner allows us to process the arrays and bundle the information for transfer to the proprietary, Life Technologies software that provides streamlined processing of the data. This seamless pipeline is necessary to provide the high-throughput analyses that are critical to completing these studies in a timely and cost-efficient manner. This service contract carries with it a guarantee that any repair will be completed in 24-48 hours. This service contract serves to maintain current working status, on-site visits for repair when necessary and software upgrades as needed. This service contract will enable the equipment to operate at optimal levels and generate data comparable to what has been historically produced. Life Technologies is the sole source for the licensed selling, maintenance, and care of their microarray equipment.

1.2 SCOPE

This PO would be used to purchase a multi-year service contract (base+3 years) to ensure efficient long-term operation of our instrument and uninterrupted service coverage.

1.3 OBJECTIVES

The role of the MGC is to provide cutting edge techniques and expertise in the field of gene expression analysis within NIEHS. The ability to maintain continuity of experimental procedures is crucial to the success of the NIEHS Division of Intramural Research and their efforts in continuing to perform the mission of the NIH. The Life Technologies microarray equipment provides us with the advanced technology to assess gene expression changes utilizing high-throughput analyses that are critical to completing these studies in a timely and cost-efficient manner. If we are unable to utilize these instruments, lower-throughput methods that would have to be used and projects would take months longer and may not provide the reproducible data that are needed. Thus, these instruments are critical to the mission of NIEHS and if we are unable to purchase a service contract from Life Technologies we will not be able to complete projects we have planned for investigators.

2.0 REQUIREMENTS

The service contract must guarantee that any repair will be completed in 24-48 hours. The service agreement should maintain current working status, on-site visits for repair when necessary and software upgrades as needed.

2.1 TASKS

Contractor will provide service to maintain current working status, on-site visits for repair when necessary and software upgrades as needed.

2.2 DELIVERABLES

Contractor will provide yearly maintenance checks, on-site repairs, and required software upgrades.

2.3 SCHEDULE

Yearly preventative maintenance and service calls as needed.

2.4 ASSUMPTIONS

Assumption base on quote provided by the contractor.

3.0 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED PROPERTY

There is no requirement for any government property/equipment to be provided to the contractor.

4.0 SECURITY REQUIREMENTS

There are no for security requirements to be provided to the contractor.
