INTRODUCTION

The City of Albuquerque’s Department of Arts & Culture is seeking proposals from qualified organizations, businesses, or consortia to lead, operate, and manage the historic KiMo Theatre, located in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico. This RFP is for a single contract that encompasses the full spectrum of services necessary to ensure the KiMo Theatre remains a vibrant and professionally operated cultural venue.

The selected contractor will be responsible for providing comprehensive operational leadership, staffing, and technical expertise to support high-quality theatrical, musical, film, and media presentations. Services to be provided include, but are not limited to: front-of-house and back-of-house support, event booking and scheduling, show advancement, rental facilitation, technical (audio/video) engineering, routine facilities maintenance and repairs, marketing, and promotional efforts.

Offerors must demonstrate a clear artistic vision and an operational plan that both attracts national touring performances and fosters partnerships with local music promoters, music ensembles, and performing arts nonprofits. The City places a strong emphasis on local representation, expecting the KiMo Theatre to serve as a cornerstone for community-based and regional arts programming.

Additionally, the successful contractor will be expected to actively collaborate with the City of Albuquerque, Visit Albuquerque, the Albuquerque Film Office, and other entities, such as the Downtown Arts and Culture District, as well as local businesses, to contribute to the cultural and economic vitality of downtown Albuquerque.

Prospective Offerors should be prepared to illustrate their capability to manage a high-profile venue, their commitment to community and cultural development, and their strategy for maximizing the KiMo Theatre’s impact as a premier arts destination.
