About this file
This is a Drug-Free Workplace Certification Form required by Florida Statute 287.087 for the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners' Herbicide Spraying and Planting contract opportunity. Vendors bidding on this three-year contract, estimated at $544,532.50, must certify compliance with Florida's drug-free workplace requirements. The vendor must publish a workplace statement prohibiting unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensing, possession, or use of controlled substances and must inform all employees providing commodities or contractual services of the policy, associated dangers, available counseling and rehabilitation programs, and penalties for violations. Each employee must receive a copy of the statement and acknowledge they will abide by its terms and notify their employer of any drug-related convictions or guilty pleas within five days of occurrence.
The form requires the authorized company representative to certify full compliance with all six statutory requirements, including imposing sanctions or requiring participation in drug abuse assistance programs for convicted employees and making good faith efforts to maintain a drug-free workplace. Submission of this completed and signed certification form is a mandatory compliance requirement for all vendors bidding on Hillsborough County contracts involving invasive species control, herbicide application, and vegetation management at mitigation sites and drainage structures throughout the county.
