The City of Chino is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide sediment removal, sediment hauling, and weed abatement services within a designated section of the

Magnolia Channel (Attachment D - Exhibit 1 – Magnolia Channel).

VEGETATION

The Contractor shall remove and legally dispose of all sediment, debris, and vegetation from the Magnolia Channel located east of El Prado Road on Kimball Avenue, immediately west of 6185 Kimball Avenue. All work shall be performed in a safe manner that minimizes impacts to adjacent properties and the surrounding environment.

Vegetation removal shall include all vegetation located along the channel bottom and side slopes for an estimated total channel length of approximately 2,000 linear feet. Weed abatement shall extend approximately 135 feet north of Kimball Avenue and 1,865 feet south of Kimball Avenue.

SEDIMENT

In addition, the Contractor shall remove sediment and debris from both sides of the double-box culvert located beneath Kimball Avenue at the Magnolia Channel, east of El Prado Road, as directed by the City.

Each culvert measures approximately 10 feet wide, 42 inches high, and 88 feet long. Cleaning of the culverts shall be performed using a mechanical winch and scraper system, or an equivalent method approved by the City. All equipment used shall be capable of operating within the culvert's clearance limitations. The use of hydro vacuum equipment will not be permitted.

The Contractor shall also remove sediment from the following channel areas:

• Up to 135 feet north of Kimball Avenue, estimated at approximately 135 feet × 12 feet × 1 foot.
