Per MSC/J&A Control Number: N104, OEM Buffalo Pumps are the only authorized critical pumps installed on MSC Vessels. OEM Parts are required for this overhaul for form, fit, and function. No other manufacturers are authorized to provide replacement parts. These pumps must be rebuilt with Buffalo Pumps parts only to operate correctly. Only Buffalo Pumps parts are allowed for the already installed equipment.

Buffalo retains the rights to all design drawings, tolerances, and original parts for the pumps.

Accordingly, the manufacturing, special tools, and equipment required to manufacture the parts used for the OEM pumps are not known to MSC.

A search of previous awards by NAVSUP FLCPS for Buffalo Pumps indicates there are more than one potential source. Two or more quotes from small business concern entities are anticipated. This requirement will be solicited as a Brand Name total small business set aside.
