About this file

This document is a Quick Guide for a Conveyance Inspection Services contract issued by the Wisconsin Department of Administration's State Bureau of Procurement. The contract involves two vendors: Bureau Veritas – National Elevator Inspection Services (for Districts 1 and 2) and Elevator Inspection Services Company, LLC (for Districts 3, 4, 5, and 6). The contract is mandatory for the Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) and cooperative for state agencies, University of Wisconsin system, and Wisconsin municipalities.

The contract covers inspection services for various conveyance types including elevators, escalators, lifts, moving walks, dumbwaiters, and stairway chairlifts. Inspections will be conducted during initial installations, after equipment alterations, and periodically for regularly operating equipment. The initial contract term runs from October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2027, with three potential renewals extending through September 30, 2030. Notably, inspection services for the City of Madison and City of Milwaukee are explicitly excluded. Where no private inspection contract exists, DSPS will provide inspection services using contracted inspectors or DSPS employees. The contract does not allow purchase card transactions, and specific contractor costs are detailed in an accompanying abstract.
