About this file

This document is a Performance Bond for Collin County, Texas, specifically related to the Juvenile Detention Façade Replacement project (Contract 2025-230). The bond covers the contractual obligations of a principal contractor for replacing the facade of the Collin County Juvenile Detention Center Addition, with the total project cost estimated at $150,000. The performance bond ensures the contractor will fully execute the work according to contract specifications, repair any defects due to faulty materials or workmanship within one year of project completion, and indemnify the owner against potential costs or damages.

The performance bond is structured to provide financial protection for Collin County, requiring the contractor to secure a bond amount that covers 100% of the contract value plus an additional 10% to account for potential court expenses, attorneys' fees, and liquidated damages. The bond explicitly states that it will automatically increase with any contract change orders that raise the project price, and the surety waives notification requirements for contract modifications. The bond also specifies that any legal actions related to the bond will have venue in Collin County, Texas, and complies with Texas Government Code Chapter 2253 and Texas Insurance Code Chapter 3503.
