The project scope includes cold plane pavement removal, dense asphalt concrete pavement placement, aggregate shoulder installation, guardrail adjustments, longitudinal markings, and traffic control measures. The work encompasses 8,723 tons of Level 3, 1/2-inch dense ACP mixture (PG64-22), 3,289 square yards of cold plane pavement removal at 0-2 inches deep, 655 tons of aggregate shoulders, 67,762 linear feet of hi-build paint markings, and 2,500 linear feet of guardrail adjustment. Bids are due by August 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with a required completion date of October 30, 2026. The ODOT Project Manager is Cody Stone (503-953-6334).

The project is subject to domestic preference requirements under ORS 279C.303 and requires compliance with State Buy America provisions. Prevailing wage rates applicable to Lane County public works contracts dated July 5, 2026, must be observed. Portable changeable message signs must be placed a minimum of seven days in advance of any ramp or lane closures, with the traffic control plan and PCMS messaging subject to project manager approval. No holiday or weekend closures are permitted. The exact amount of guardrail adjustment is unknown, and an allowance of 2,500 linear feet has been included as a starting point.

Issue Date: 7/20/2026 Bid due date and time: 8/10/2026 2:00 pm
Project Name: OR58 MP40.50-44.30 2" Overlay Paving
Project description (include milepoint locations): 2" overlay paving on OR58 from MP40.50 to 44.30, full width edge of pavement to edge of pavement. Adjust any affected existing guardrail to legal height. The exact amount of guardrail adjustment is unknown so an allowance of 2,500' has been included in this bid as a starting point. Overlay paving is to extend to face of guardrail post, or the face drainage curb under the rail if present. Skip BR02071A Salt Ck Bridge at MP42.93 due to active bridge replacement work. Paving will extend just into their work zone on each end so when their project is completed this fall they'll have new AC to tie into. When scheduling work, coordinate with Hamilton Construction. Shoulder rock is assumed to be installed 3' wide with the compacted depth equal to the overlay thickness. At paved driveways and driveway approaches, wing out 2.5' per inch of ACP thickness and taper down to existing grade. Milled tapers at project start and stop points and county road approaches (taper lengths for highway butt joints per RD610, taper county road connections 50' per inch of ACP thickness). Longitudinal markings and legends and bars to match existing color, layout/location, and material as existing. Follow 00744.44(c) regarding direction for drop offs at the longitudinal joint due to overlay paving.
