Contract A208_P4837463

Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University awarded a contract to Sigma-Aldrich Inc. on September 8, 2026, with a cumulative value of $349.00. The contract covers the procurement of laboratory chemicals and reagents for delivery to Sharon Carbaugh at the Carbaugh location in Virginia (contact: (540)231-4814). The two line items include HEPES (4-2-hydroxyethyl-1-piperazineethanesulfonic acid) buffer solution, minimum 99.5% titration purity, at a unit price of $268.00, and hypoxanthine powder, minimum 99.0% purity, at a unit price of $81.20.

The contract represents a straightforward procurement of specialty chemical reagents for research or laboratory applications at the Virginia higher education institution. Both items are supplied as single units by the prime contractor Sigma-Aldrich Inc., a recognized supplier of life sciences chemicals and laboratory products. The relatively modest contract value and specific chemical specifications indicate this procurement supports ongoing laboratory operations or research activities within Virginia Tech's academic or research programs.
