Sigma-Aldrich Inc. was awarded a contract by Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with an award date of August 13, 2026. The contract, identified as A208_P4824195, reflects a cumulative value of $231. While the specific products and services to be delivered under this contract are not detailed in the available documentation, Sigma-Aldrich Inc. is a global supplier of research chemicals, laboratory reagents, and scientific equipment, suggesting the contract likely involves procurement of laboratory or research-related materials.

The contracting organization, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, is located in Virginia. The contract represents a purchase agreement between the university and the prime contractor; however, the documentation does not specify the period of performance, specific place of performance beyond the Commonwealth of Virginia, or itemized annual and contract values. The minimal cumulative contract value of $231 suggests this may represent a small purchase order or a limited-scope procurement rather than a comprehensive supply agreement.
