Blanket order for 2025-2026 bus service for VWCC student riders. Only metro provider in the VWCC…

Virginia Western Community College awarded a blanket purchase order contract to GRTC (Greater Richmond Transit Company) on June 9, 2026, for an estimated cumulative value of $29,029.00. GRTC has been designated as the sole metro transit provider serving the Virginia Western Community College service area in Virginia. The contract establishes a rate of $1.75 per ride for student transportation services during the 2025-2026 academic year.

Under the terms of this agreement, GRTC will provide bus service to Virginia Western Community College student riders on an as-used basis, with monthly invoicing corresponding to actual ridership volumes. The vendor will deliver services to Jennifer Webb at the college, with the total contract value representing the cumulative anticipated expenditure based on projected student utilization of the transit system. The blanket purchase order structure allows Virginia Western Community College to pay only for services actually consumed rather than committing to a fixed annual amount.
