The University of Virginia awarded contract A207_PO-0482576 to VectorBuilder Inc. on September 19, 2026, for specialized molecular biology services valued at $1,338.00. The prime contractor is tasked with providing large-scale adeno-associated virus serotype 9 (AAV9) packaging and production services for custom gene expression applications. The contract specifies delivery of two distinct viral products: a primary custom gene expression AAV9 virus construct at a titer exceeding 2×10¹² genome copies per milliliter in 10 aliquots of 100 microliters each, and an enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) control AAV9 virus at a titer exceeding 2×10¹¹ genome copies per milliliter in 2 aliquots of 100 microliters each.

The single line item, awarded on a firm-fixed-price basis, encompasses the manufacturing and delivery of these viral vectors to the specified recipient, Aris Xie. As an award issued by an institution of higher education in Virginia, this contract reflects research support activities typical of academic medical and biotechnology initiatives. The stated contract amount of $1,338.00 represents the cumulative value for the complete delivery of the specified viral products and associated packaging services.
