Tires and Tubes

The State of Texas, Department of Public Safety (Agency 405), awarded a term contract to Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, LLC for the procurement of tires and tubes. The contract, identified as Term 26207330, was awarded on November 28, 2025, with a completion date of June 30, 2027. The initial purchase order (PO No. 26207330) reflects a contract value of $303.04 for one tire unit procured under National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP) Code 86307. Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, LLC, headquartered at 200 4th Avenue South, Nashville, Tennessee, serves as the prime contractor for this award.

The contract establishes a term procurement arrangement with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts - Statewide Procurement Division managing the acquisition on behalf of the Department of Public Safety. The State of Texas has claimed exemption from Federal Excise Taxes and Sales Taxes under Texas Tax Code Section 151.309(4) for this purchase of tangible personal property designated for exclusive use by the state. While the initial purchase order represents a nominal transaction value, the term contract structure extending through June 30, 2027, indicates this award establishes an ongoing vehicle for the state to procure tires and related products from the awarded contractor throughout the contract period.
